  1. So this fascinated me when I watched this, when Mrs. M is reading the newspaper talking about the woman that died, "Done in by a scarf", she's talking about Isadora Duncan, the mother of Modern Dance. I actually trained a bit under someone who trained under her pupil. She was considered a revolutionary for dance in her time, and she whore a long scarf as a trademark look. The long scarf got caught on a wheel and killed her.

  2. This animation is absolutely outstanding. And since the production of the comic is so glacially slow, I REALLY hope they can get picked up in a format that moves the story along.

The literal fat cat Mordecai (the cat with the gat) was talking to on the phone is Asa Sweet, a prominent "legitimate local businessman". As you can sort of gather, Lackadaisy USED to do big business back when Atlas (the Tabby in the painting, Mitzi's late husband) was around, but has fallen on much harder times now and is in danger of being forced out of the business entirely by folks like Asa. As for why Mordecai, such a professional and deadly sort, didn't take several shots…notice both times he ended up with Ivy (the young lady) in his sights. Without going into spoilers, it's reasonable to conclude that Mordecai either doesn't like to risk hitting a girl, or given that he apparently recognized the crew as being from Lackadaisy he has history with them in particular…Something to read or watch to find out more about!

Regarding firearms, wet powder is rarely a thing with metallic cartridges absent extreme circumstances like leaving them submerged for DAYS. If you ever want to learn more about guns, I highly recommend it, as they're not nearly as complicated as you might think, and can be quite rewarding. Especially if you enjoy media where they're prominently featured.

  3. I am SO GLAD you watched this amazing animation. It really is an amazing project and deserves all the love and praise.

However, this is just a small snippet of the WHOLE story. If you want the entire picture, try looking up "Lackidaisy Cats" online. It's the webcomic that inspired this pilot. The art style is really something to take in, and the story will get you hooked.

  4. The rifle isn't an AK either. AKs weren't a thing at the time of prohibition. Seraphine's gun is a Browning Automatic Rifle, or a BAR for short, one of the primary weapons used by the american troops during WW2. It's a powerful and well-built gun that served the military well enough, but it was also notorious for being overly heavy and not being used as it was intended. It was meant to be used like a mounted machine gun, but most soldiers treated it like a modern assault rifle, much like Seraphine does in this series.

  5. The only guns I for sure can identify in this one are as follows: (in order of appearance) Colt Monitor/M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle(commonly referred to as the BAR), M1921 Thompson, and the Colt M1911. Three of the most recognizable to gun enthusiasts like myself. I can't get a good enough image of the revolver, and I am too unfamiliar with that tiny little pocket pistol to identify either one with confidence.

  6. guns are conceptually really simple actually. dont get me wrong we make them pretty complicated with recoil springs and gas exchangers. but really, a gun is a tiny hammer that strikes an explosive, which propels a projectile (usually tiny piece of metal) down a tube very fast. the magic is just how damn fast it goes, fast enough to go thru "mo fuckas" lmao

  7. Everybody seems to miss it but there's another after-credits scene! It's just some still-frames but it shows Mr. Sable, the man further back at the bar, looking at Rocky's destruction of his quarry. The place Rocky wrecked is his!

  8. Just a little info about firearms for Alicia, wet powder isn't really an issue for cased ammunition (as in ammo that has brass or steel casings which contain the powder) unless the bullets have been wet for a LONG time. It's one of the many benefits that cased ammo had over ball and powder ammunition.

  9. Day 91 of asking Alicia to watch a supereyepatchwolf video.

Particularly either the space jam 2 video or the Garfield video. Seems like Itโ€™s up Aliciaโ€™s Alley.

    Lackadaisy! Woah.

    Legend- A Dragon Ball Tale
The Batman of Shanghai (might not be able to react but still worth a watch)

  11. Because you watched The Amazing Digital Circus and hang out with Lizzie Freeman, i would like to suggest the "ENA" series by Joel G to you as well.
It is an incredibly weird and strange series, but i feel like your reaction to it could be very fun, it is a great series and Lizzie does a couple of voices for it.
