Amazon Games has posted a massive amount of job hiring posts, many of them very recently during or after the New World Beta. It seems like many of the software developers they’re hiring may work directly on New World, which should hopefully lead to quicker content, patch and bug fix releases. This likely won’t have much impact right on the New World release date since new employees will have to be trained first, but should lead to improvements long-term.

Keep in mind that – strangely – New World was developed with a smaller team than any AAA MMO. This was a major factor in its repeated release delays. NW underwent a MAJOR change in direction too when veteran management was hired. Then again NW is not a AAA title compared to, say, ESO with its full motion-capture animations, detailed character creation, an unimaginable number of art assets, outstanding orchestral scores, etc. Amazon's biggest problem, though, is they are stuck with the reworked Cry engine which they call Lumberyard, but that's another subject. Bottom line: these hires are not pertinent to NW per se. They may reflect a commitment by Amazon to its gaming division, however, and bode well for their upcoming Lord of the Rings title, years from now.
