Quest 2 Gets ANOTHER Great VR Mod… QUAKE 4 VR Quest 2 Gameplay

Quest 2 is a fantastic device for modern VR versions of classic FPS games; games like Doom, Wolfenstein, Half Life and Jedi Knight are all playable natively on the device and now Quake 4 is joining that list. Quake 4 VR is still in active development but it’s shaping up nicely and the team over at Dr Beef have made an early version of this brand new VR mod available to those who subscribe to their Patreon. In it’s current state Quake 4 VR is a little rough around the edges (the game crashes when you die, the flashlight isn’t bound, two handing guns doesn’t work…) but despite all this it still looks like another strong port from the Beef team and another fantastic VR mod for Quest users looking for another slice of classic FPS action. To play Quake 4 VR you will need a full legitimate copy of the game on PC as setup requires you to move some of the original files over to the Quest 2, however you can pick the game up for as low as 75p if you know where to look and you’ll definitely get your moneys worth at that price!!

If you want early access to Dr Beef VR mods you can join the Patreon here, all mods are made available to the public after leaving early access/development: https://www.patreon.com/teambeef/posts

All Quake 4 VR gameplay / Quake 4 Quest 2 Gameplay was captured natively on the Quest 2 and is representative of the game in it’s current state.

  1. First, I don't like that much camera sway, it's annoying.
Second, nobody speaks about The best game in this genre ever: Unreal Tournament. I would be soo much happy to see UT for PS5. That would be dream come true. It was one of my favorite games ever. The music, weapons, maps, atmosphere, characters, modes… Everybody uses unreal engine, nobody makes Unreal tournament. So sad.

  2. I feel you Beardo, luckily I could just stop playing VR entirely for the whole summer 😀 I try to get back in for some Battle Talent and my beloved Breachers, but it's still 30 C hot in Poland too. I hate it what we have done to the planet. Thank you for providing so entertaining content throughout the whole summer, game on!

  3. I would love to see the entire Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Heretic, and Hexen series released officially as native Quest games. With Microsoft owning Bethesda I doubt that will ever happen though.

  4. Funny that you say Quake 4 and Doom 3 are llike siblings. I mean most people use the term doom clone while they really mean quake clone. Quake came first and inspired Doom. Doom was just the better game. Well except 3. Doom fans don't talk about 3. Personally it could have been worse.

  5. See Benjo, while q4 isn't running on the unreal engine…I am very glad you thought it was, because those games seriously NEED a VR port. They have fantastic environments that would look and feel incredible in VR. A guy in Flat2VR is working on the original Deus Ex that ran on UE1, so that door might just be opening. If anyone reads this and is interested, throw the modder your support, please! ^_^

  6. This game and Doom 3 has in-engine cutscenes right? If the cutscenes were pre-rendered looking around the cutscenes wouldn’t be possible. I might be wrong. I wish RE 4 cutscenes were like this

  7. Hi Beardo, after playing Doom3 on PSVR1 now I want to play Quake4 on my Quest2, I tried it yesterday but when the game starts I just rotate my camera but I can't move in the world (in your video you can at 2.10min),,, Do you know why? Also I tried to change the controls but I couldn't, THANKS! 🙂
