  1. The best strategy tackling the runback is grinding the enemies until they stop spawning. Considerably this would take some time, but ideally you'd be doing that than aiming for the bosses, and reset and spend your souls. They won't spawn upon structures by a few feet, and the spawn area version of that is unusually generous, so it IS possible to avoid a first horse.

  2. unrelated question but i was wondering if you are looking forward to zelda tears of the kingdom coming out soon? not for a lets play but just curious if you enjoy those games. aside from fromsoft, naughty dog, and bioshock.. zelda is my favorite 😅

  3. Like some others are saying. Use the phantoms to get you to the fog gate then send them packing, power stance your fire swords, take out the first one quickly before the second joins in. It takes longer for the second pet to engage if you’re alone and you literally almost killed the first on one of your runs. You can definitely do it because you deal so much more damage without summons. It is a bullshit area similar to the 3 invader boss fight you never beat. Also, those weird looking statutes where you summon the phantoms was a multiplayer summon area where people that didn’t buy the dlc could play parts of it for free.

  4. I endured until the end, unlike some people *wink wink, nudge nudge* 😉

No but seriously, when you stop having fun there's no point torturing yourself. Unlike me and my OCD, we are our worst enemies!

  5. I've played through DS2 multiple times, and every time I get to this double-boss, I exploit DS2's despawning mechanic. I invest a couple of hours into just killing the Pickachu-ponies until they despawn and and nothing interrupts my boss-run.

  6. i still have ypur respect you try it and its okay even you didnt finish it i even almost drop this part but my pride as a player and my ego is still fighting i use all strategy and use all of my item like less stamina, magic reduction etc and in god sake i finish and beat the boss i think i suffer more in iron passage because my strategy in that area is to defear mobs multiple times to that they will not respawn anymore because i keep dying but after multiple hour i finish it

  7. DS2 is my first souls game I ever completed (this is the only area I gave up on after bashing my head into the wall).

It’s ok if you don’t do it, it is all the BS

  8. I've see this area voted as worst of all the Fromsoft games. I cannot wait until you start 3. It's more challenging, but in a good way. Plus, the second DLC has some of the best areas in the series.

  9. In my world, trying counts. These bosses were the worst bosses in the entire dark souls history in my opinion. Overall, thanks for playing Dark souls 2 Mati. I'm really enjoying it!

  10. I imagine DLC director Yui Tanimura in a team meeting, asking for something incredibly frustrating, on a Monday morning after a bad breakup. He got the Frigid Outskirts.

  11. I don't think I could beat this boss if I summoned. Truly it sucks, but I think you have to do this fight solo. With summons, the health is just too out of hand and the second one coming in almost immediately makes the fight terrible.

Fighting them solo is actually not terrible, it's just the worst, most painful run back in the world.

  12. I personally think it's hilarious how traumatized people are by this area. It's become so much more in the minds of Souls players than it really is. You run in a straight line a few times, are forced to fight a few tough enemies, then you get to the boss. Learn how to kill those reindeer easily, like you do with all enemies, and you're fine.

  13. what you have to do is to just kill the horses 12 times, after that they will stop respawning. Also, the more summons you have the more health the bosses have,it is easier to do it alone or with just 1 summon

  14. If I'm not wrong the way it works is that during the storm the shithorses appear, so the concept is to run to the structures hide during storms and then run, fight shithorses then hide again, until u rage quit and move on :v (or like is intended to be played invite real people xD)

  15. Hey dont give up! It’s easier if you just hike up the hill to the right side of the 1st structure, that’s the closest to the fog wall. Also unga bunga+repair powder sold by chancellor wellager (drangleic castle) will make it easier.

  16. I've been here once myself and probably might trigger people but frigid outskirts wasn't that bad once you figure out how the blizzard works(blizzard means reindeer while no blizzard they don't spawn) as I went into this place not knowing anything and killed my fair share of these reindeer but basically the way to go is walk or run when the blizzard stops and stop completely when it comes back do NOT just sprint through especially with weaker armor.

  17. you should enchanted your sword once its broken such as poison. Even though your weapon already broken, the effect still effective. And still do slightly higher damage than non enchanted weapon.

  18. Hahaha don't worry Mati no one will think any less of you for not completing that shit stain of a area. As fun as it was watching you suffer for an video like we all did. I think most everyone would much prefer you move on to DS3 anyway. Keep up the good videos always entertaining 🙂

  20. Just don’t let this optional area (or the blue smelter, or gank squad) taint your overall love for the DLCs. They were made specifically so you and your friends would have a super challenging run for your money in the DLCs which was a really cool thing, it just hurts the feelings of dark souls veterans who haven’t had human contact since Artorias of the abyss dlc came out lol.

  21. My advice would be to treat this boss sort of like the 4 kings from ds1, be aggressive and try to kill it before Zallen the 2nd boss reaches you, Zallen appears when Lud goes down to 1/3 HP, also try to stay on the far right side of the boss room when you enter being far away from where the 2nd boss is sitting so you can get more time to take out the 1st boss. As for summons, they are definitely helpful for the run to the boss but you should use the black separation crystal to get rid of those summons once you reach the fog gate because your actually giving the bosses a defense buff if you enter the boss fight with summons so your gonna end up doing less damage which means a longer fight against 2 bosses. good luck if you decide to have a rematch
