Extreme Budget Restoration on a Rusty 1948 GMC. Turning Scrap Metal Into Yard Art

It’s spring cleaning here at Carter Auto Restyling. One of my favorite things to do is scab together all the scrap metal I have laying around into something that resembles a car. We will take the remains of a 1948 GMC and do some horrible bodywork and paint work to fool the unsuspecting public into thinking it’s a beautiful classic truck!

  1. They get 1500-2500$ US for a hollowed out perforated hulk around here for yard art. Put Kyle’s Country Palace on the door and age it. That adds about 1000$ around here it seems. The lettering sells.

  2. Great, I see You been watching YouTube in Your spear time and learned how to use bondo correctly… The camouflage paint sceme looks Great also!!! Some foreign country should hire You to do all their militar Vehicles… This could help You with Your finances??? Oh, and don't forget the pillows for the rat nests, Your cats will love You for all their new play toys!!! Also, You might want to chain it down in the yard or some scum bag will steal it thinking it's worth it's weight in GOLD, and it might be, if they sell it as a Carter Auto Restyling work of Art… Or them stealing it might be the easiest way to get this pile of dodo out of Your yard???

  4. KYLE, you have created the perfect center piece for the new craze of a "Water Works" feature using an old pickup.
I thought that was going to be the surprise ending.
I don't know about in Saskatchewan, but down South, it is a going thing.
But, we Southerners do have a tendency to get a little crazy from time to time.
One pickup has about an 18-inch wide flow of water cascading out of the rear window into the bed and running along the bed and water-falling again into a pond to be recycled.
    It is eye-catching for sure.

  5. Have you ever considered using "Flight of the Bumble Bee" for the high speed clips? The repaired Chevy cab would make an excellent winter beater. Every winter, it would beat you from having transportation.

  6. Kyle hope you will reply; I have over stretched a side panel on a panel truck. Will heating it up shrink the puffy look I now have and how hot do I need to make to get it to shrink? Thanks for your quality videos.

  9. Why even bother with spray paint? Just get a can of the cheapest house paint and brush it on there nice and thick. Protect it from the elements the old fashioned way! Make if "Hot Rod Red" with a white roof, and no one will even question it. And I'm not joking here – I do think it will look rather fetching in this livery.

  10. Believe me…..no one here thinks that you are disturbed. Your kitties might, along with the Lovely Wife, and neighbors in my town are probably as unhappy with me as yours are of your own self!

  11. Can't understand how the fenders got scratched when you were really careful installing the hood. I really appreciate the skill you alway's apply when putting parts back together. I can't count the times I have applied your skills in building my own cars. Make sure you give the KITTIES a big hug for me.

  12. I found this video disturbing. I dislike fun, it irritates me to see anyone having fun. Please make more videos where you're clearly not having fun. And, light some plaid shirts on fire. I like fire.
