Zero FAILS on my FIRST 3D Miniature Prints! Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra

Zero FAILS on my First 3D Miniature Prints! Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra. My first 3D miniature painting attempts were all perfect! Zero fails, all wins! This video shares my experience with 3D printing for the very FIRST time with zero fails, or zero failed prints, with my Elegoo Mars Ultra 4. This video is totally NOT sponsored. The printer was a gift by my friends last August.

  1. OK, try again. Ive looked into buying this Mars 4 but am confused by all the extra options you get. If I was to buy the basic Mar 4, aside from solutions, do I get everything I need to start printing?

  2. Welcome to the world of 3D printing! The Slicer is the key, and of course the resin used. It's really interesting to have user-supplied resin profiles in the slicer; it helps a lot. I recognise 3 main DragonLance characters. I hope you'll do a lets paint of Goldmoon and Laurana Kana ๐Ÿ˜‰ cheers !!!

  3. Once you start defining supports on your own, the chances of failure will increase. Most pre supported minis will properly print even when minorly scaled. Those that are auto generated by slicers have a chance, but overall are not likely to either (unless youโ€™re ignoring the warnings that islands were found). Curious on whether or not you did any cones of calibration exposure tests tho.

  4. If you're going to size up by more than 50% you should use the unsupported version of the STL, and add your own. In my experience I have found most slicers these days have great automatic supports.

Also, if you're resizing up by more than 50% you might want to hollow the mini and add some holes for drainage. Saves a huge amount of resin.

  5. To print something bigger than the platform, grab the unsupported STL and just slice it in the middle. Most slicers now give you the ability to do this via a flat plane. Then you can rotate the two parts so each one fits into the volume of the printer and then finally add automatic supports.

  6. The Mars 4 Ultra is a great printer, I love mine. I've had several printers over the last 4 years and it's the sharpest one yet. It looks like you've chosen some great models with good presupports to print with. One quirk with this printer is that it runs out of storage after just a few models, so if you are sending models to the printer over WiFi make sure to delete them off the printer or it will get full and your "send to printer" can fail due to lack of storage space.
It's a pretty deep rabbit hole when you start calibrating different resins and doing your own supports but there's lots of resources out there to learn from.
