I loooved this episode! The casting of Henry & Sam, damn they knew what they where doing. I kinda panicked 2 minutes in because the game hurt and seeing Henry & Sam made it hurt so bad instantly, such great actors, fell in love with them right away. Such a great episode. Seeing Ellie and Sam together in this way was so amazing.
The problem with them all teaming up together, if they had all lived, is that they could never trust Henry going forward. He was in a terrible dilemma, I understand that, but imagine a scenario where the four of them ran into slavers. If they said, 'we want the girl for sex and the guys can leave, or we kill you all' would Henry then sacrifice Ellie to save Sam? That's why Joel was reluctant to travel with them. No matter how understandable Henry's choice was, he still betrayed an innocent man. You need a moral core that says: there's a line I'll not overstep no matter what. Henry didn't have that core.
