  1. Maegor the Cruel is the most Interesting and Terrifying Targeryan ever.
He is the only son of Visenyra Targeryan and Aegon the Conqueror.
He rode Balerion the Black Dread after Aegon the Conqueror.
He is 6"7 and He is a Great Warrior.
Aegon may have conquered all of the lands but it is Maegor who really showed the Power and Terror of Targeryans, and What will happen if the Dragon is provoked.
I mean he is a legit Psycho, who has once been in the Coma for 28 days, and guess What, the first thing he did after he woke up was,
He mounted Balerion and obliterated the entire Faith in the Sept at King's Landing and surrounded the Sept with Archers to kill anyone who escaped from Burning.
He also killed his Nephew in a Dragon Battle Where Maegor/Balerion killed Aegon-Aenys' Son/QuickSilver.

  2. Aegon didn't run away from the Faith. That was Aenys, Aegon's 1st Son and he is king after Aegon. He is the one who flew to Dragonstone fearing the Faith. He is just an unworthy guy, who really can't rule anything. But his Brother Maegor on the other hand changed the definition of Cruelty and Terror of the Targeryans in history.

  3. You are close with the religions. Before there were men on Westeros, the Children of the Forest were there worshipping the Old Gods. The first men arrived around 10,000 years ago. THey warred with the Children of the Forest, but eventually they made peace in order to defeat a dangerous common foe, the White Walkers. The First Men eventually adopted The Old Gods. When the Andals invaded from Essos 5000 years later, they came in force and brought along The Seven. They spread their beliefs throughout Southern Westeros by force, but not in the North. When the Targaryans invaded Westeros, they did not have a religion of their own. They did not adopt either religion, however, they accepted the SEven so the people would accept them, just as you said.

People in the South don't actually beileve in the Old Gods, however, they respect them regardless, and when taking an oath, they will swear by THe "Old Gods and the New", , just to cover all of their bases.

The Many-Faced God is basically a form of monotheism, buth their god is the God of Death. They simply believe that all of the various Gods of Westeros are just different people's way of expressing the same basic truth that all men will die. All Gods, in all religions,, in one way or another are there to explain the thngs that we cannot understand, mostly where we will end up after death.

Princess Nymeria was a Princess of the Rhoynar people in Essos 1000 years ago. Having lost most of her forces in battle and facing capture and subjugation by the Valerians and their dragons, she gathered her people in every ship they could find and went looking for somewhere to settle and ended up in Dorne. She is seen as a legendary example of a strong woman, so of course Arya would take her name for her wolf.

  4. The storyline of Dorne in the books is very interesting. There are even characters that do not appear in GoT and have their own stories, like Doran Martell's other children apart from Tristan: Arianne who is the eldest and heiress of her father, Quentyn, and Tristan is the youngest.

  5. The story of Dorne (and the Rhoynar and Nymeria before them) in the books and backstories is amazing. D&D butchered the Dorne storyline in GoT. One of the GoT successor shows that's often talked about is the story of Nymeria (10000 ships), and many of us hope that it eventually is made. And yes… Princess Nymeria, the warrior princess, was the inspiration for Arya to name her direwolf.

  6. They probably didn't name Aerys' father in this video because the show made a change here: in the books, the father of the mad king was Jaehaerys II. The show removed his character, making Aegon V his father instead. I'm not sure why this was, but perhaps to make Maester Aemon a bit younger (he is over a hundred in the books). It could also be because the show aged up the children and pushed back the timeline of Robert's Rebellion from 14 years to 17 years before the show's start. This in a way eliminated Jaehaerys' three year reign from the history of the show.

  7. Aegon was very strong and the ppl both respected and feared him. The faith accepted his marriage to his sisters because he had big dragons.

When he died his eldest son Aenys became king and he was vey weak and the whole realm knew it. As soon Aegon died the vale and iron islands went on rebellion because they knew Aenys wouldnt do anyhting.

Maegor destroyed the vale rebellion and when the iron islands saw what he did they overthrew the new selfnamed king and delivered his head to Aenys in kingslanding.

There was also a rebellion in Dorne wich Maegor yet again destroyed.

Maegor was married but his wife couldnt give him children, so he went and married another women wich was seen as an abomination by the faith and the realm.
So he got sent to exile for 5years by Aenys.

Aenys then went and married his son to his daughter and that did not go well by the faith. This started a war with the Faith and they overwhealmed the Targaryens in kingslanding and Aenys had to flee to dragonstone.

Remember Maegor and Aenys are halfbrothers. Aegon was married to his sisters and both gave him one son each. Rahenys(Aenys mother was allready dead) but Maegors mother Visenya was still alive.

Visenya told Aenys in Dragonstone that he shouldnt be so weak. He has dragons and he should start using them. If he dosent want himself then she can do it for him. Aenys didnt want to hear and sent her away. Aenys at age of 36 looked like he was 60.

Aenys then died but had three sons and a daughter if i remember correctly. And one of them shouldve been king. But Visenya saw them as weak as Aenys and went and brought back Margor from exile. He destroyed the Faith and took the crown for himself. There was a war after this where Maegor killed two of Aenys sons. His third son Jahereys is the king you see in the start of House of the Dragon.

The reason he is named Maegor the cruel is because he was first of all a very hard and cruel person. He killed anyone that spoke against him or questioning his decisions.
Other things he did was bulding the red keep(As we know from GOT and house of the dragon). He hired allot of ppl and build secret rooms and tunnels. After it was done he didnt want anyone to know about the secrets so he killed every single person that had a hand in the building. He became also very paranoid as the years went by because no matter how hard he tried he couldnt make any children. He started loosing his mind at the end.

    Hope it helped.

  8. Watching your reaction to this video made me sure that something important (yet to come) is still not spoiled for you. Can’t wait to see your reaction when the time comes. It will be a great joy, a Tower of Joy if i dare to say 😊

  9. I haven't read the books, but people who have assure me that Martin took every major incident and plot point from something that actually occurred in world history. For example, The High Sparrow's account of how the Andals forced their religion onto the natives of Westeros when they invaded sounds very much like a recounting of how the Spanish conquistadores forced Catholicism onto the natives of the Americas.

  10. It was Syrio Forel, Arya's 'dancing master' (I now know why he took such pride in being First Sword of Braavos, and why he insisted on facing the King's Guard on his own terms. Also, it's a measure of Ned Stark's prestige and influence that he was able to get the First Sword of Braavos as his daughter's personal instructor) who talked about Death as God: "There is only one God, and that is Death. And what do we say to Death? Not today."

  11. There are Nobilities in Old Valyria.
    1. Dragonlords are the Highest Nobility – there were 40 Families – Targeryans among them, but they were only lower lords, as other Families had More and Bigger Dragons
    2. Houses control the Navy are of lower level – House Velaryon among them.
    3. Then followed by the Houses that just have Soldiers and Knights – House Celtigar.
All these 3 Families Survived the Doom of Valyria.
Now these 3 house of different Nobility are the only remaining of the Mighty Valyrian Empire.

  12. You have to keep in mind that each reading is the point of view of that character. If you think about it Robert Baratheon and Viserys Targaryen will have a different points of view when it comes to the Iron Throne.

  13. Maegor was cruel , yes , but burning the scept was a clever move from is position . he could not afford having them conspire against him behind is back again , threaten is rule and the rule of his children .

  14. Donno if you caught that, but the Waterdancers and the Faceless Men are different branches of the same Braavosi culture – which is why Aria's first acquaintance with the Many Faced God actually comes from Syrio.
"There is only one God and his name is Death. And there is only one thing we say to the God of Death…"
