  1. I think Randy is right: “Don’t leave turkeys to find turkeys.” In 2015, we went to New Mexico. I killed a turkey one morning, and thumbed a ride back to the campground. When I got back, there was a guy from Canada there who came over to our camping area laughing his ass off and said, “Boy and I glad you killed a turkey!!” I said thanks but asked why he was so happy. He said it was because one had been gobbling all morning on the bench above the campground, and he didn’t understand why we left turkeys to find turkeys.😂

  2. The song of the meadowlarks made the show for me. Perhaps those sweet birds gave more than imaginable. Yes, the report of the gobbler raises the heartbeat and adds to the excitement of the hunt. Its just nice to hear the lark, like they are saying everything is OK..

  3. Patience is the key when it comes to turkeys…sit and wait them out…call occasionally, but not to often …her excitement was awesome when she retrieved the bird…Merriam’s are such a pretty bird in comparison to the Eastern turkey.

  4. Congrats on the first turkey!! Looks like a you have good numbers of birds! That is some great entertainment watching western elk hunters hunt turkeys. 😂 You should do a collab with Dave Owens or Hunting Public.
