  16. I actually remember seeing my brother play that toenail clipping game as a kid. You would just click on them to clip them, then they get put in a jar, which you could then email to anyone. I don't think he emailed it to anyone. The game was pretty much over in 10 seconds.

  29. I can confirm as well I absolutely remember playing this game. I actually clicked the thumbnail because It had been years since I thought about it. I loved Waluigi and Daisy when the game first came out. If I recall it was just a pair of clippers that let you send a email once you finished clipping all the nails. That's so far back I am pretty sure I was using an earthlink email.

    There used to be tons of these things. I remember playing some digimon games as well.

  31. One of my favorite interpretations of Waluigi is that "off camera", he's a perfectly normal guy who doesn't really want to do any adventuring or grand plots. He just enjoys sports as a hobby, and he likes to play board games with his friends on the weekends. Wario will call Waluigi and be like, "bro I got this lead on a massive treasure, come help me sail out to this island and take it, we're gonna be rich" and Waluigi's like "ehh, sorry man I just put the tea on and my show's about to start, I'm not really looking to go out and do things today. But hey, be sure to call me if you're getting a tennis or golf game together or something, I'll join that for sure". It contextualizes why there's no "Waluigi game" and that's because he doesn't want to have a game all to himself, he just likes being a part of a sports team or another player on a board game.

    Now, that said, I also really love him being Mario's Dick Dastardly, where he's so desperate to cheat and win and cause problems on purpose that he will actually stop and cheat even when he's winning just because he can't help himself, and it brings him disaster as a result, and that interpretation doesn't really square with that. But I think they're both really fun for different reasons.

    I've also heard the theory that while Wario is greedy and not afraid to just take things that he wants, he doesn't really seem to break the boundary that is cheating to win. When he's playing Mario Party with the (gender neutral) Guys, he'll trash talk and hoard money, but he plays the game honest, probably because it's more satisfying to win that way and show that you're dominant. Waluigi doesn't have that much self-restraint. Waluigi isn't brave like Mario, smart like Luigi, or strong like Wario. All he has is cheating. Like I said, Waluigi will cheat even if he's winning. It's not a question of will Waluigi cheat, it's when. Wario puts up with it because he doesn't care if other people cheat, but it does drag his attempts to actually win down because everyone calls them both out for their shit every time. I like that little dichotomy between them where they're both assholes but for different reasons.

  34. I can confirm for a matter of a fact that the game existed and it was playable. I visited the Mario Tennis site before Power Tennis was released and they wiped everything. Waluigi was given his own corner of the site and featured a tennis court puzzle game where you cover the white lines in purple and the toenail clipping game. It was a flash game where you clip Waluigi’s toenails and I think it even gave you the option to print it out for all to see.

    I repeat. The game was real and it was playable.
