This was one of the most biased video I’ve seen on the subject. Good lord, your team really did zero research for this didn’t they? Stalin didn’t have 100% ultimate authority and on every decision like wtf stupid claim is that? Or that Stalin considered Hitler a “kindred spirit” because “of his shared authoritarian rule” like please source me that. The “Stalin Constitution of 1936” democratized many aspects both within the party and within the wider Soviet government. Can’t listen to such dumb ass straight up propaganda.
Overcivilized stupidity of the free nations…. We think some dictators are clever or geniuses… LOL NO. All you need ot be is absolute brutal and ruthless. that is all they have to do. Nothing to do with intelligence.
The Soviet Union was on the winning side of WWII, but only because of massive help from the Allies and that the Germans beat themselves. (Don’t forget they were allied with Germany til ‘41. The USSR only became a “superpower” at the expense of its citizens. Millions starved, were imprisoned or lived like serfs. The USSR was only a superpower on paper, most of their technology plain sucked, it didn’t work, needed endless maintenance and was never produced in significant numbers. Soviet soldiers/pilots receive less than half the training as their NATO counterparts. I know, I was born in Czechoslovakia. I was there. Russians have had numerous opportunities to impose a democratic government but have always gone with dictators and police states. There are deep troubles within Russian society that allows this to continue to the modern day. That’s just my opinion, I could be wrong but I doubt it.
Marxists of the Soviet Union systematically murdered at least 60 million political opponents in their own country
Russians still throw hordes at their enemy aka Ukraine
"a little s**t"
The title is insulting. His leadership was not genius.
Hey “griffin” he was obviously a genius, I find your channel super biased..why don’t u make videos analyzing western leaders why would u call Stalin insane? He’s done more than you ever will
this video has false information xd
'' Maskirovka,, means camouflage
It nearly succeed..all of Europe and all of Asia and then build the silk road and usher in the space age..,russian forming policy since 1899.in fact since peter the great.
Hitler is Darth Vader,,,Stalin is Darth Sidious…Sputniks are 5he death Stars…Sith is the Schitians

Stalin executed german spies in miltary Stalin not prepped e done this from 1930
There is some inaccuracy here: Stalin may have been a 'paranoid autocrat', as asserted in 19:37, (and in 1937 during the purges!) but Stalin certainly didn't have 'practically no military experience'. Stalin took in leading the Battle of Tsaritsyn in 1918, and was also a commander in the Polish–Soviet War in 1920. Stalin had far more military experience than Hitler, whose role in WW1 was entirely on the battlefield, rather than commanding anyone.
Now, was Stalin very good at military experience in 1918-1920? Arguably not – but prowess is a separate matter.
Proof that the ability to learn is anyone's greatest weapon.
Another one-sided attempt to analyze Stalin. I don't think any modern non-russian will be able to understand the entire situation during Stalin's reign. He was pretty tough but without that toughness USSR would never have risen from the ashes the way it did. Stalin inherited a bunch of ruins but then won the war and rebuilt the country in mere years. What he did for the people is incomparable to almost any other country leader. No wonder he was absolutely worshipped by so many.
Stalin isnt even from Russia
I thought the total USSR count was around 26.8M people. Do you mind sharing the source you used?
I think you give stalin too much credit
Stalin was trying to delay the war. As the ussr was clearly not ready. It clearly wasnt, and intellegence reports were very confusing. Some said germany would attack i spring, or in 1942. There were so many and so contridicting reports, there was no real knowledge of when an attack may happen. And giving the germans a reason to attack (like mobilising) was, as i said, a really bad idea overall.
Also thank you for giving some facts about the numbers. I did not know thag ussr had no numerical advantage until 1942-1943
@TheArmchairHistorian I've said it before and I'll say it again. Your sponsor plugs are the best on YouTube. I'm usually a pro ad dodger but I find myself very focused and interested when you start your segue.
British did not hurry to share intel with USSR. But because head of British counterintelligence was Kim Philby, the top Soviet spy, USSR was getting all they need. The aforementioned Kursk operation was actually a German initiative. But thanks to Philby, Soviets knew ahead the exact time. And just hours before start, USSR fired artillery barrages on concentrations of German forces. Besides, Germans prepared new improved armored vehicles, Tiger tanks. Soviets knew ahead of these developments and for months were manufacturing improved anti-armor ammo without which a Tiger tank could only be stopped if it breaks down.
Speaking of Stalin's war experience – he had plenty. He was involved in Civil war and Polish-Russian war. However, it is fair to say that he lacked modern war understanding. Ironically, Stalin gave a green light to General Tukhachevskiy with his buildup of mechanized units; same general who was in fact the organizer of planned military coup which lead to great purges. Still, Stalin wasn't aware of the true extent of these purges. And this ended bad for the NKVD top brass. During these purges those officers who had not admitted guilt were jailed and not executed. Rokossovskiy was one example when he was released after war started to become top Soviet General. Those who were not executed were released and fought in the war.
if you guys are interested in a great and perfectly historically accurate russian ww2 movie, enemy are the gates perfect! historians love it. shows a lot of truth
This video has some minor inaccuracies. 1- the soviets proposed finland to give them a strip of land north of leningrad to Better being able to fortify the city. The finnish government accepted but the diplomat sent to accept the final soviet offer disobeyed and refused, starting the war.
2- Stalin had military experience, he was a general during the russian civil war and commanded troops during the soviet-polish war of 19-20, where he actually proved to be a very cautious strategist. He actually proved to be better than tukachevsky, which made the rookie mistake of charging with cavalry deep into poland, resulting in a major encirclement and ultimately in the polish counteroffensive, that brought the conflict to an end.
I hate this video so much it has so much anti USSR propaganda and anti communism propaganda it’s annoying
Россия вам не по зубам
no i am
Instead of shooting they own komrads regroup them again for the fight, and what if they came back because they ran out of ammo wtf.
Все гении безумны
Two face is that you?
If I was a History teacher, I wouldn't hesitate to show your videos they are so well made
Britain rarely shares intelligence with the Soviet. The Soviet steal the information from the British who had cracked the enigma's code. If only german had used Nord VPN, the WW2 outcomes would turn very different.
Dude, it’s 2022 and Russia is just throwing bodies at Ukraine 🤦♂️. Yeah Stalin was a mad man
Stalin exalted our Russia and other republics he made our country Great strong invincible he left us the atomic bomb he created the great minds of the USSR who are now creating technologies in you you should thank him and my ancestors and grandfathers for having a world and technologies that are also thanks to the mind of the Russians, none of you Western citizens know who Stalin is, only superficially
5:39 uhm… whatever keeps happening to Sweden on these maps…?
77000 plane, I can not believe, irealistic nbre.
A little bit of both
Considering that this was the guy who said it was not vital for Soviet Union to be at the Persian Gulf. And when they finally got there instead of restoring relations to Saudis they backed South Yemen. Can't blame Ukrainians for rather dying than go back to these geniuses.
Stalin is lucky his country was big enough to offer him time to figure out how to beat the Germans.
Всё по секретным документам
If Stalin was American or English he would have been considered a military genius. Yet, he had the bad luck of being born Russian. One thing is for sure, if wasn't for Stalin, everybody would be speaking German in Europe today.
