So I see no reason this can't be World 2
I hope we get monsters in the tree tops, Rathalos flying over an area in a trailer is meaningless, as Iceborne taught many of us, because no way in hell is he going to an ice map. The raths have a very cool ecology. The males choose their mates, not the females, so they set up tier main pair that they mate for life in the Forrest but rathalos is… Smart but not exactly faithful. You see, they will have their main mate but they plan for the worst by having at least one exiled mate that they ensure to mate with but send her on her marry way to the desert to raise her own young. The hope is that, if the main nest in the forest dies out, that the babies raised in the desert will survive and maybe in the harsher environment they will grow stronger and have their kind of bitter mother motivating them to not end up like her. The rathalos alone in the volcano, asside from in Rise cause Rise is weird, are likely the males that none of the females were interested in or males that are passed their prime but they are angry about that. While this means they are naturally weaker, their aggression and living in the harshest environments the yenhabit can make up for it so they put up quite a fight. Seriously, Rise is the only game that broke this pattern by having rathian in a volcano map and it was dumb.
I would love to see what other monsters would fight in the canopy, apart from the raths that I hope actually operate like a mated pair. Have them call eachother and fight as one, like with shrieking and normal legiana. One of my most fond memories in Iceborne was the shrieking legiana quest because that poor barioth got into 5 total turf wars getting bullied by the 2 legiana. I imagine the raths may do something similar to anotehr poor soul or more in this forest.
I hope this map makes use of what the wildspire wastes and hoarfrost reach squandered. They said the water will rise and the currents will move you so I hope it will be much more impactful than what we got in World. If so, looks like I got my wish form back in base World. I was begging for a real tough monster in the deep water/deep snow, to make the aquatic/polar expert skill not utterly worthless. If it's not only slower movement, not quite like mud, but also the current moves you then this will very interesting. Potentially way better than the lightning storms.
I do find it odd that we didn't see a new herd monster in this map. We saw that doshaguma show up here but they said the maps will have, at a minimum, 2 large monsters in herds. Does that mean 2 unique to them. The question is does that not including shared ones, like dosha here, or does it include them so we may get only 1 more in the scarlet forest?

Other than that though, there's black dragons(fatalis for example), red ones(safi for example), and I think 1 or 2 other colors that are relevant to monhun lore. ā¤ā¤ā¤

Okay, theory about Arkveld, the new flagship. Based on its purple glowing parts, I'd say it may use dragon element, however, in the trailer, we obviously see it battling Rey Dau and, if you look closely, battling Uth Duna too. What if, if it kills them, it can absorb their energy and then use their elements? So, like a pseudo Alatreon in a way, and perhaps it'll battle the Apex monsters on the other possible two areas as well and absorb their elements too, giving it, potentially, fire and ice element as well?
Am I the only one who thinks that Fabius looks like The Caravaneer from MH4?

Excited to see more maps, and way more excited for returning monsters. That flooded jungle id prime leviathan habitat. I also want my bois pukei pukei and seregios. I think theres alot 2 more maps to reveal, 2 or 3 maps seems too little. But with the changing environment maybe it was too demanding for 4 or 5 maps.

The trailer was showing a conflict between the Hunter and Nata. Nata was the one claiming the Hunter was doing nothing worth while with their weapon. Then Nata was telling the Hunter he would take the weapon and fight the White Wraith himself. It was just a situation of an angry child throwing a tantrum and thinking he could do better just because he's angry and wants revenge.
