Legendary Godzilla is just as brutal as Minus One. The difference lies in the way they are filmed. In the Monsterverse you don’t see the human suffering for the most part, just random cities being destroyed but hardly any actual deaths are shown. In Minus One people are shown being crushed left right and centre and the opening encounter on the island is filmed like a horror movie. The colour grading is also much grittier than the Neon Pop of GvsK giving Minus One a more realistic aesthetic.

SPOILER …..its been confirmed by a inside source that worked on the film that shimu will not die but in fact will submit and bow to godzilla as king due to defeat and losing his original alpha (skar). shimu origin story is being the first titan, he never had a purpose or reason in being alpha and slowly when other titans came along, he was already in hibernation. hes an omega means hes only care to be solo. but if another titan can prove there leadership, he will follow. hence why he followed godzilla at the end of the film and was put back into hibernation. also godzilla burning form will appear in the film..his counter to the freeze attack from shimu.

Shimu, Shimo, Shamu, Shumo, it's a dumb name no matter how you pronounce it. Why is Godzilla pink? Cause Sheemoh is blue. Simple as that. Not sure why Mothra is being replaced. Her Toho rights cannot be THAT expensive for Legendary. Neither is Rodan. They print $$$! Keep them in.
I have shimo placed as an antihero more or less like Knuckles from sonic franchaise. He will maybe be tricked to side with Scar king only to later in movie help his nephew G man and his besto friendo kong. I do think that Scar king will command an army or many smaller titans, and thats why godzilla evloved to a more agile and powerfull kaiju…
I'm gonna be honest. this movie looks to cartoon like. godzilla and kong running together looks very weak and not very monster like. to comedic looking and seriously they should have kept the serious tone to the monsterverse. this fun more bombastic STUPID look took most monster fans right out of the excitement. nothing looks real like the first three movies and I don't know why I feel like so many others want to say what I'm saying. such a big budget and this is what we have to look forward too. unbelievable
