I left the big city of Toronto to move onto 40-acres of Canadian wilderness with a magical river. I am building an off-grid homestead with multiple log cabins and structures from the timber on the land.

  2. Bonjour, Quebec la belle provence😂 I was inspired by your cabin build. I am building a miniture cabin in my garage as practice for the real thing. I acquired land and will soon be building a slanted or shed roof style cabin. Merci beaucoup mon frere.

  3. Welcome back, Happy New Year!
On vacation watching from the Dominican Republic. 🏝
I have tracks for my atv since 2005, ive got the original tatous and they are awesome for me personally they are more practical than a snowmobile. Get yourself a plow for the bike then your all set.

  4. I love your channel. Impressed by all you have done and your resilience. Unsolicited advice: get a wood stove thermometer for your flue pipe. This will guide you on the best operating temp for the wood stove and minimize creosote buildup. Related: remember the wood stove needs are to operate well. If it can hotter with an outside door or window open, you have sealed up the cabin too much. This is typically only an issue with modern construction, but planning a fresh air inlet near the wood stove allows you to control it.

  5. Please forgive sir James I’m a little late to the party this week. OOOOOGA BOOOOGA

James, FYI don’t put power cords in the same conduit as your wifi the AC noice could take out your sensitive wifi equipment and interfere with the signalling

  6. Hey James. have you heard of a pod cast series called The Ancients? Many many great audio lessons about ancient history. Your favorite era , Ancient Rome is well represented. Also ancient Egypt Europe Britain and a good number of ancient peoples such as Celts
Goths, Greeks and even a few Neanderthals. They don’t forget some specific Ancients either. Several Ceasars make appearances. Check it out.

  7. I hope Starlink doesn't get wiped out when the snow comes off the roof! Need to just mount a pole on the back of the roof for it up high!
And a chimney damper would help keep heat in that stove if you don't one. Didn't look like there was any on that stove pipe but I might have missed it
