  1. They totally should have had at least one line explaining where she got off to like they did with Goose's wife. Charlie was a civilian contractor in the 1st movie, she could be one of the top civilians at the pentagon today. [ Yes, there are some].

  2. They excluded her because of the way she looks Today. Had she looked slimmer & younger for her age she would've had a Role in the Movie even as his Ex. What else can she do or say, they did NOT want her. Tom Cruise is now making $100Million off this Movie including his Pay. She could've used a Big Pay Day.

  3. I don't think fans were "baffled" unless said fans were morons. Kelly was already 5 years older than Cruise was during the original and like the rest of us she actually shows her age, unlike 60 year old Tom Cruise.

  5. McGillis is too old and fat. he was not a good match in first movie because she was too old and more than 3 inches taller than Cruise. Never liked that movie. Ryan is had been also.

  6. Jennifers Connelly's character is not a "new love interest" for Maverick. After all she is the "Admiral's daugther" from the original movie, so they go even further back than McGillis' role

  7. She was excluded for her inclusive lifestyle and sexual preferences. How would they explain her character dating a young Pete Mitchell to being in a stereotypical lgbqt relationship in 2022?
Plus I’d pay $20 to see Jennifer Connelly’s lovely feminine ageless beauty & assets vs. Kelly McGillis’s short crop hair & wrinkles.

  8. I think Kelly is still gorgeous! I was expecting something else from comments and intro, yet the current photos of her, she's still stunning. She has so much depth and inner beauty too, even a little age etc cannot hide that at all. There's so much soul in her eyes! Kelly: your not old and …. oh my goodness…. She is indeed a great actress, for she clearly is a real person!

  9. With the greatest of respect to her, and this is something she knows better than me, to be the leading lady of a huge Hollywood movie you have to put in work on your appearance and acting and fitness. She did all that when she was younger and then chose to do other things in her life. I do understand it is ‘her’ role to be his girlfriend, but she doesn’t meet the really high demands for a Hollywood female love interest now and we can’t blame the caster for looking elsewhere (and they chose great). But there’s also nothing wrong with the way she looks – it just wasn’t the right cast for this movie. This is just life, she will understand 😊.

  10. Can you imagine how it would feel for a guy if he were to have met and tried to have a sexually romantic intimate night with Kelly McGillis back in 1986 after the first Top Gun came out where she refused him, and then 36 years later in 2022 he sees her again, and then she remembers him and then takes him up on that offer afterall?

  11. Typical Hollywood. All the women in the original got canned because of their age and only the ones who returned are men. It would have been so great to see at least one return.

  12. This is borderline clickbait. The title makes it sound like she has a problem and she doesn't. She says she is doing her own thing, got away from the Hollywood grind and is doing what makes her happy while giving high praise for her replacement. That is a well adjusted adult who has been through some shit and risen above it. We should all be more like that.

  13. The Director didn’t want to make a sequel to Top Gun, he took a legendary film and turned it into a generic Tom Cruise movie. The fact that the story revolves around Goose’s son and they DONT bring back Meg Ryan, even for just a cameo, is the primary reason I will NOT be watching this toxic masculinity garbage.
