I actually had to cut the pipe right after the split so that I could install a connector to that I could blow out his sprinkler system.
The vacuum breaker is defective now and so is the pipe. After my blowout I removed my connector and installed the other half of the cut pipe into it so that both pieces were connected so that it would move around. This is just temporary until I can install a new vacuum breaker and replace the split pipe.
