  1. This is the speed John Lennon wanted to but the record company said the album had enough ballads. There's certain artists in this country whom everyone knows. Check out Midnight Oil Stand in line live. Rather energetic dancing ๐Ÿคฃ

  2. When John is on Australianโ€™s arrive. I have probably watched him do this song 60 times and I still have to stop. That was John teaching the Beatles how they should have sung it and John Lennon agreed. I think a lot of big names were glad he stayed here at home and they all worried he would make a cover of their hits. There is no genre he cannot sing even opera. He is such a gift.
John and my husband both came from England when they were 10 years old. Sometime in the 80โ€™s John became a Citizen really fast because he found out he was going to be Australian of the year. Like my husband he just thought he was an Aussie. Mel Gibson came from America as a child and went to school here. His father Hutton Gibson was on and won Sale Of The Century. He came back and played against other champions. He had a heap of children and always talked about a back injury. Mel went to our top Acting School, NIDA. A few years ago he rebuilt it much bigger and he still comes home and funds that school. All of our Australianโ€™s still come home or just stay home. Thank you for John. Listen to him sing Led Zeppelinโ€™s Black Dog. John never recorded it but someone did. He uses it for sound check and warm up and you will only find a photo of him singing it. Really worth hearing. He has one of the best voices in the world.

  3. OK so I screamed "what!?" At you as you said it must be an original, but as an Aussie who grew up with musical parents who actually didn't like the Beatles or Elvis (it was all Country, folks!) I was very surprised to hear the original of this as I grew up with Whispering Jack and didn't realise this was a cover!

  5. This version of The Beatles classic song, is the way John Lennon envisaged it to be sung. John Farnham first performed his version back in about 1974, at a Royal Variety Performance in front of Queen Elizabeth. John is an English born Australian artist, and is the epitome of a true gentleman and consummate entertainer; Australia's greatest performer, who chose family over international exposure.

  6. I would have never of known this was a Beatles cover. I have heard of the song "Help", However, Never been a Beatles follower. This rendition is perfect. And, I like the Sax too, gives a little jazz feel. His voice is very soothingly perfect. Great reaction Hap! CHEERS!

  7. I find it so funny you didn't recognize the Beatles's song. I couldn't believe it when I heard the first words. What an exceptional cover! It's awesome! It really rocks as well as the orchestra, backing vocals, the sax and the audience. Thank you for this reaction and your breathlessness when you were listenjng to it. So was I. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  8. I laughed when 'I've been corrected' came up on the screen…. yes, this is The Beatles song 'Help'…… John Lennon actually got to hear Farnsies version when it was released in early 1980 before Lennon unfortunately was murdered in Dec 1980. And John Lennon said that this was how he had wanted to perfom this song…. but record labels/producers etc. made The Beatles do an upbeat version……. this is our John Farnham… and he will be known forever….. he was still performing in his 70's before his cancer diagnosis…. which we are all praying he get's through and comes back from xx…. we looooove him…. he is also a really humble man….

  9. I have had the privilege of seeing John live many times over the years even in small pub setting. He is truly amazing and so adored here in Australia. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•If you havenโ€™t already I would love you to react to the studio version of When Something is wrong with my baby which John sings with Jimmy Barnes.
