Grilled Portuguese chicken wing recipe is my latest offering to you follows of my antics.
Today I’ll finally answer those burning questions, have you ever wondered what is in Portuguese chicken spice? And is Peri Peri Chicken Portuguese? More to the point is Nando’s Chicken Portuguese inspired? Yes, yes it is.
But how to make it, well wonder no more as I explain how easy it is to make, but be warned it is bum burning hot.
Super flavourful with a lot of heat, sometimes the heat can be too much and you really cannot taste the flavour, not with this recipe. It packs a great punch and delivers on the tasty scale and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
As with all of my recipes I run through the selection, preparation, seasoning, BBQ set up, times and temps, so you can recreate this recipe at home.

Main Ingredients:
1kg (2.2lbs) of chicken wings
1 brown onion
4 cloves of garlic
Lemon zest off one large lemon
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 teaspoons of chilli flakes
2 teaspoons of sweet paprika
¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 bay leaf
¼ cup of extra virgin olive oil
¼ cup of red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon of salt flakes
½ teaspoon of black pepper
Garnish Ingredients:
⅓ cup of flat leaf parsley chopped
Lemon cut in half for garnish to squeeze over lemon juice
Items Used:
57cm (22”) Weber kettle
Chimney Starter
Kettle Kone (vortex)
Feeds: 2 to 3
Preparation Time: 1 hour for marinating
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Cuisine: Portuguese / Australian
