2022 was the year of the color Red in watches, and given its importance for #omega it’s no surprise that one of the most striking red dials of the year was the new #aquaterra 38mm terracotta.
Its sunburst deep red color is created with a particular technique called chemical vapor deposition on top of a brass surface and makes for a warm and natural tone with hints of brick. There are also faceted polished and brushed applied indexes and a useful date at 6 o’clock which unfortunately does not feature any frame.
And it’s not just a beautiful dial: the traditional Aqua Terra bracelet has been redesigned and now features more rounded links somewhat reminiscent of president bracelets and tapers from 19mm at the lugs to 17mm at the clasp.
What isn’t new is the beautiful case shape, with Omega signature twisted lugs, in the perfect size of 38mm, making it a pleasure to wear on the wrist.
Also the movement is still the impressive METAS-certified caliber 8800 , present also in the Seamaster 300range.
From my glowing review you might understand that I really like this watch and can’t wait to add it to my collection, especially given its relatively affordable price of 5600 CHF.
