i spent 20+ hours down at shinnecock over the past 2 weeks before i finally got my spanish mackerel. didnt get skunked once though, always got some bluefish and herring. im gonna finally head back tonight now that the swell has died down
The spearing are big now. Its time. We have till October 9th this year. I may even try to fry up a few spearing like old school Italians do. Sweet kid. Shes already getting you bait. The world needs women who fish.
BTW everyone REI and Cabelas are having big Labor Day sales. I got a Morikniv (Swedish) stainless steel sheath knife at REI for under $13. That place has everything.
Hi Brian, in case you want her to catch some, Lenny and I caught dozens of porgies yesterday at NP town dock mid afternoon outgoing using sand worms. Spearing and clams not as successful.
thats where they were…usual spot had crabs on my bait….and caught 2 searobins.. 0 flukes…..it was also very windy today, blowing from the direction i was casting…so the bait didn't go too far..
