  1. Canโ€™t go wrong with Michael McDonald! Michael collaborated with a lot of artists in his day including, Christopher Crossโ€™ โ€œRide like the Windโ€, Patti LaBelleโ€™s โ€œOn my ownโ€, Kenny Logginsโ€™ โ€œThis is itโ€, Steely Danโ€™s โ€œPegโ€ and even did the soundtrack song, โ€œSweet Freedomโ€ on the movie โ€œRunning Scaredโ€ that starred Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal.

  2. This chord progression on verse and chorus throughout the whole song was new wave leading into other rock types including punk. Thatโ€™s what Michael McDonald did โ€ฆ he lead new wave into other types of rock. Ricky donโ€™t lose my number had this rock too. But michaels voice was so distinct you could spo5 it in the fore ground and background all over the place with its raspy soul.

  6. Great reaction to a great song! I bet you would like the Doobies doing โ€œTaking It To The Streets,โ€ they have a great live version of that. Keep up the good work!

  7. The lyrics you read are incorrect. If you go to 4:06 of this video, you can clearly hear and see them say "what a fool believes, THE wise man has the power to reason away". If you look up the lyrics as you did, it often says, "NO" wise man….. but if you watch and listen to the clip it is clearly "THE".

  8. Guitar player with the orange shirt and sunglasses is none other than Jeff "Skunk" Baxter also of Steely Dan and interestingly enough is also a honest to goodness rocket scientist at NASA to this day.

  9. I did one studio session with Michael M. (vocals on the song "Sweet Freedom") and he was: 1) the nicest guy, and 2) a seriously bad-ass singer/scatter who could come up with great improvisational sh|t on demand. Colleagues of mine who worked with him in studio more than I did (in the '80s and '90s) told me he was super down-to-earth and super unpretentious.
