This song is from the movie Midnight Cowboy. This movie is the only x rated movie to win an Oscar for best movie.
Great song. Haven’t heard this in years. 😅
Harry Nilsson is a singer songwriter who had his biggest success in the late 60's-70's. He has a lot of great songs such as "Without You", "Me & My Arrow", "The Puppy Song", "The Moonbeam Song", "I Guess The Lord Must Be In New York City", "Jump Into The Fire", "Spaceman", "Coconut". Harry wrote the song "One" which was a big hit for Three Dog Night in 1969.
It does mean more when you've seen the movie (Midnight Cowboy)
you may want to consider doing a deep dive into the 60's & 70's music, I guarantee you won't regret it
Midnight Cowboy.
Mama Cass & Keith Moon both died in Harry's flat
This song fits so beautifully into the movie. The dark-haired guy is Ratso Rizzo, an "indigent" who lives in abandoned freezing buildings in New York City, and has a wonderful "Florida Fantasy" which is embodied by this song.
Midnight Cowboy is one of the best 70’s independent films made…not always easy to watch but a beautifully made flick. I’ll subscribe to your Patreon just to watch along.
The blond actor, Jon Voight is Angelina Jolie's father. Excellent movie! They lived in condemned tenements in NYC and froze every winter so the dream was a bus ride to Florida! Definitely watch the movie!
And how about those high notes at the end?
The song featured in the Oscar winning film, Midnight Cowboy – 1969
I could never just listen to this song without thinking about the movie and vice versa. Powerful stuff here.
Harry Nilsson was an exceptional singer.
You pretty much described Midnight Cowboy, just wanting to get away from the gloom and sadness. That's why the song fits so well. Incidentally the John Barry score is brilliant as well.
scenes are from the movie midnight cowboy from which this song is from
Can i please send you a music video request?
Midnight Cowboy is a GREAT album!!!!
Great song, great movie.
Tasha… nice reaction to this song. Yeah it's from the movie "Midnight Cowboy". See the movie if you can and the song will make more sense.
Harry was the man to know in music circles🤘❤️
I'm walkin here….. I'm walkin here!

Not a CowBoy movie, just GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will never watch Midnight Cowboy again. It has excellent acting. It is well written. It is well directed. It has a great soundtrack of course, but it is by far the most depressing movie I have ever watched.
Tasha, very short version of the movie, It is about a naive country bumpkin from the deep south that sets out for New York city to become a male prostitute. He meets up with an unhealthy 2 bit con artist that fleeces the dumb cowboy out of everything. The cowboy eventually runs into the con artist to exact revenge but instead is duped by the con artist story and eventually has empathy for him until the con artist succumbs to his health issues.

Going where the weather suits my clothes. Classic line!
Maybe my favorite song, ever.
The greatest singer/songwriter that no one remembers. I remember the song first, then the movie. I didn't think the movie was all that great…
