Choice wood y'all, going to look beautiful cleaned up.
I use to work for a flooring company, we sold carpet and so called hardwood floor there is nothing made today that comes close to old wood and to pull something like this is the proverbial diamond in the rough
Hahahahahahahahah๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Do they not sell hearing protection in America?
My father in law worked for the Paxton Lumber Co. out of Missouri, they dealt mostly with exotic woods, but he told me a favorite was "Blue Cottonwood" which was very old and blue stained Cottonwood pulled out of the water after decades. This wood wasn't blue but was very beautiful nonetheless. Axe cut as well, incredible.
how the heck did he free hand a horizontal cut that straight?
How long is this log.
Log, please.
Great video. The last few minutes had me tearing up. Danny H. was a true friend of mine. I miss him terribly. It was great seeing you at the sawmill project again this year. JT
that is a small one, down in here in Mississippi grow them full size. and when they pull a log that's been down in the mud for many years it will have turned blue, and is called a blue log, very nice when it is cut and dried out. there used to be a mill on the river that bought logs, one day when coming back from water skiing we meet a guy on a log that must have been 12 foot in diameter waving at the tug boat crew sitting at the saw mill to come and get him so he could sell the log.
nice couler off the wood

What a beautiful tree and lumber.
Such a cool video. Don't think my 16in. Stihl would be much use here but it's a great saw around the yard. Love the skill of these guys and women too that do this!
Wow this is an amazing operation. I wish you guys were local, and could harvest some of the Douglas Fir, Redwood, Pine, etc. on my property (some of them much larger than that Cypress).
You could practically build an entire house from all that wood. I can't help but think that what Annheuser Busch did with their recent failed ad campaign is alienate this very type of wholesome, down to earth people, not just here, but all over this great country!
arent u supposed to date it via the ring sizes 1st ?
That chicken looks goood.
I'm not following why where there so many people there? Where they just having a barque at the sawmill?
that was some beautiful wood . Thanks for sharing.
No PPE, I'm gone.
Used to haul cypress out of the cypress heads down here in Floridaโฆ built a lot of cypress fence with cypress post. Beautiful trees!
Good times
So what you going do to stop commies in usa?
Doh. How many chickens do we have? 120 halves. Does that mean 60 chickens or what? But they do look delish
i'm like, if you ain't got noth'n good to say don't say noth'n at all.
Too cool – I wish I was in Georgia right now!
The thing about a WoodMizer is that the equipment needed to service it is frequently larger than the mill itself. The logs it can saw frequently are heavier than the mill.
Show me you're not a stereotypical South Georgian forest-raping hayseed by showing me you're a stereotypical South Georgian forest-raping hayseed.
"leafs" lololol. It's "leaves" bro'.
Bubba's are doing a great job getting some beautiful straight-grain boards outta that log.
The color on that Cypress looks a lot like Osage Orange. But that's where it ends.
Ya but you are pretty good yourself.
You guys are good neighbors to have.
Most folks could never understand this but that is what I call having a good time and at the end of the day when y'all all cleaned up and your belly's full, you lay down on them clean sheets with some good cold air blowing on you and you just sleep so good with no troubles on your mind. Why can't the whole world live like that. I love it man !!!
๐๐๐๐๐บ๐ฒ๐๐๐
nice wood. why is everyone so fat?
I am amazed at the number of spectators !
Thereโs nothing like southern hospitality yโall
Thank you! I enjoyed this video. It seems to me that's a good life you all are living down there.
Pardon ignorance but "sinker" means they found this log under water or in the mud, right? I am aware that cypress wood resists rot, moisture and insects, but has this log been underwater since ax cutting was common?? That's something like 70 years!
thanks
Authenticity!
leafs?
BEAUTIFUL !!
Thanks!
