Blows my mind this Dodgers team is in first place. On paper the Dodgers haven’t had a team this bad in over a decade. Rotation is incredibly weak. The line up is 4 hitters deep. And the bullpen is so so. How in the world are the not 10 games below 500

They should honestly go all in on arenado. Is it a sure thing the cardinals would trade him? No . But you can at least try, the cardinals are now in year 4 of Goldschmidt/areando and they’ve really done nothing ..areandos contract is a big contract for a organization like the cardinals even tho it’s a good one for one like the dodgers:
they could see this as an opportunity to retool and have money to spend for next year.. along with a Few nice mlb ready prospects. Trust me it’s not as crazy as you’d think, also arenado has a no trade clause but he’s from LA and grew up a dodger fan and it’s been long time known playing for the dodgers is like his dream. Even Corey seager said it once so as far as him waiving it is 100%.
I know there will be a lot of people on the “no save for ohtani” there’s no guarantee ohtani signs here. And arenados contract is honestly so good considering the player he is. He has 4 years left and the salary drops significantly every year ending at 14 mil in 2027. Trust me the dodgers would be able to sign ohtani even if they traded for Nolan.. Also im sure if they give a little more they can convince the cardinals to pay a tiny fraction of it making it an even better contract

Ned Colletti was one of my favorite GMs! Ned traded for Manny Ramirez and signed Kevin " rubber arm " Brown to a 7 year deal!!
Dodgers should be Realistic with themselves and just go after Nolan Arenando and stop worrying about how it effects the pursuit of Ohtani which does not seem very realistic to me! More of a pipe 🤪 dream!!
