Sorry for those of who joined the premiere. I have no CLUE why it suddenly stopped and ended. Must have been Colonel Mustard with the wrench in the YouTube server room. Anyway, hopefully you can view the full vid now. Enjoy!!
THE absolute best comedy 'who-done-it' movie, by some margin, has to be Murder by Death!
Alec Guinness, as the blind butler, Bensonmum, and Nancy Walker, as the mute cook, Yetta, create the biggest laughs, while the guests include, Peter Falk, David Niven, Peter Sellers, James Coco, Maggie Smith, & Eileen Brennan, while the creepy host is suitably over-acted brilliantly by Trueman Capote!!
It's just a perfect piss-take of the murder-mystery genre, & will keep you laughing all the way through!
You'll almost certainly need to watch it a number of times to catch ALL the jokes, as you're gonna miss a lot, by laughing!!
why did you cut out all the funniest moments? Did you literally not laugh at them?
You were right on the money, Miss Scarlett was played by Leslie Ann Warren….annnd she played Will's Fathers Mistress on Will and Grace.among many other roles like Pure Country and Cinderella and Victor victoria. love her.
Cassie, Mrs Peacoc was played by Eileen Brennan who was Gondorf's girlfriend in The Sting
If you want to see another trademark Christopher Lloyd role, you should watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit
I love the discovery screams of yelling a name or location and the whole group running in that direction over and over.
Ladies – another film that fits this category perfectly is "Bell, Book and Candle". I just know you would love that movie. I recommended it to you in the "Vertigo" reaction because it also has Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak as the leads.
Tim Curry's tour de force performance. Truly one of the finest films ever made.
And if you'll notice…..Mrs. Peacock is nowhere to be found when they first burst into the room where Yvette was. One or two are missing early on when they first find the cook dead in the kitchen too.
'Clue' and 'Murder By Death' go together hand in hand although 'Murder By Death' has older detective characters that may not be widely recognised today, but is still very funny and is as enthralling as 'Clue'.
Are there any others that would go on this shortlist that I am unaware of?
“Murder by Death.” Yes! That one must be on the list. A mystery, murder, comedy type movie, like “Clue.”
This is the best movie ever
Clue? hell yeah, instant like
One of my favorite comedies ever. Such a fantastic cast. The movie was bashed by the critics, but it has been a beloved cult classic ever since it was released.
"Is there a Mr. Body in the game?" Actually, Mr. Body represents the dead body of the murder victim.
Don’t feel bad, I KNOW that’s not Susan Sarandon and every time I see it I’m like “Oh, hey! It’s Susan Sarandon!”
Fun fact: from the minute Wadsworth says they have 39 minutes the rest of the movie until the first ending takes 39 minutes
Edit: the whole thing to correct the whole thing
Fun fact you may have missed.
The cop makes an appearance in another movje you just watched. Lethal Weapon 4!
He's the old man that Joe Pesci steals the urine sample from right near the end.
The late Bill Henderson. Wonderful character actor.
You do understand this is a Black Comedy yes ?? lol
The cast is actually quite a major cast for when this movie was made in the mid-80s….. Mr. Green is played by Michael McKeen, who got famous playing one of the goofy friends of Laverne and Shirley in the TV show. Most recently he played Saul Goodman's (Jimmy McGill's) controlling brother Chuck McGill in the Breaking Bad prequal Better Call Saul. Howard Hessman played the police chief – he got famous as the DJ Venus Flytrap on the 70s TV show WKRP in Cincinnati, then later in the 80s as the teacher in Head of the Class.
Christopher Lloyd is absolutely Dr. Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy – worked on this and the first BTTF in the same year.
The butler is Tim Curry – he's been in countless movies over the years, probably most famously as Fran-N-Furter in Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The singing telegram girl? That's Jane Weidlin, founding member and lead guitarist of the 80s all-girl rock band The Go-Gos.
So many triggering words in this movie, I just can't help myself…whenever I hear a character in a movie or TV show say the word, "murder", I can't help myself, I have to ask, "what do you mean…murder?" it's just automatic. This movie is full of those types of phrases, which is the hallmark of a great comedy. Long story short…too late. One, plus two, plus one, plus one…
Guys – there’s a similar movie from 1976 called ‘MURDER BY DEATH’ which is also terrifically funny. Well worth a reaction at some point!
Mr. Boddy is the lead singer of the punk band FEAR, Lee Ving…just FYI

Mr Body was the victim in the game.
It was his murder that the players were trying to solve
Clue was my GO-TO sleepover movie as a kid. I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen this. One of my all-time favorites.
Mr body is the body
