You should really consider adding the Smart Speed mod it adds a custom speed setting in case you have issues with waiting around, and 3 speed isn't doing great.
You can customize the speed that the fourth custom speed added goes at in the mod options in the main menu.
You should really consider looking into some of these mods!

Increased Stack (This is honestly fantastic, and I can't go without it.)
Tilled Soil
and maybe Hospitality because it would be very cool to harbor people looking to stop at your base to rest and recover and then head out on their journey.
Honestly would be fun to see Arean play kenshi 😮
