The amount of work that went into this is just mind blowing. Lots of thinking outside of the box too which is just priceless content to put out there for everyone, well done!
The amount of work and time it took you to resurrect that guitar is mind blowing. You are incredibly honest in your critique, but I think that’s what has made you a craftsman. You should be proud.
Every butt-clenching moment rolled into one video is more stressful than following this in parts 😅
What an absolutely amazing restoration that will hopefully let this thing see Gibson's 125/150.
Got anxiety just from watching some of these crazy repairs. Sure I'm not alone lol
Truly an astonishing piece of work Derek.
Outstanding
That job is simply fantastic!!
Incredible work. I was disappointed the Bigsby didn’t pull through as well.😢
Pretty awesome but, weren’t those stripes Walnut from the factory, not Ebony?
Wow, that turned out incredible!
Dude that restoration is insane… Especially the neck!!! Wow. Take a bow!!
How much does that sucker weight? Its hardware is so stupid. Those studs and and intonable tailpiece.. Why? 🙂
Nice restoration BigD. Quick and easy 😀
very cool
This guy has crazy skills (I believe that's what the young folk say)
Great T-Shirt ! Thanks for support

I like your sped-up time lapse videos.
Your original post didn't make it into my list.
Your level of craftsmanship is something to admire. However I am disappointed that master with your capabilities leveled the neck binding nibs once you deceided to instal the brand new binding.
Wouldn’t getting a whole new neck from Gibson or aftermarket have been cheaper and faster at this point? Basically nothing is original anymore anyways.
Just wondering, why not assemble the fretboard in a way that allows for fret nibs as original?
This repair is the work of a wizard.
When it was broken it ceased to be a guitar. You made it sing again. I’m impressed! Great work!
So how many hours of work did this take, more or less? It's nice to see people valuing a guitar enough to go to these lengths to repair and restore rather than just chucking it. Way to bring this guitar back from the brink of death to the land of the living!
My ‘77 Les Paul Deluxe has maple veneer under the maple top like that as well. Apparently very common. I didn’t know it for years until someone said a lot of Les Pauls from then had that, and took a look for myself.
Really great repair. One heck of a lot of work. Like the idea of fretting it without the nibs. Nibs are cool, but I like the extra playing surface of overhanging the fret end on the binding. Gonna have whoever I find to refret mine do the same.
Really good job! It's so painful to see that previous repairs can cause more harm if done wrong. Sadly I face this regularly. I'm partially cleaning up previous repairs before actually starting the repair or restoring.
After you steam a neck off like that, how much drying time does it need? Got to imagine the wood around that tenon is pretty saturated at that point
amazing job man !!! you are a magician 🤤
Really good job. Sounds great too. Lots of work. Lazy me would of just got a new neck and veneered the old headstock face on.
Fucking horrible music.
those bridge posts!!! Good lord!
Do you change the truss rod with hex key?
Killer work and jigs for days!
11:39 OMG 🤣🤣 You even include the meme hohoho Just EPIC!!
Bro….. you are truly a gifted luthier! So what if some things don’t match and even if they never do! I’m a player and do it for a living and if that was mine and u saved it like u did I would probably cry lol….but seriously I probably would, nothing like having that road worrier player guitar, they become like your children 😂 very gifted and wish u were in Southern California
Always jaw dropping skills, keeping a great guitar alive for many years, always worth the struggles, incredible.
Great work. You are an official artist with a capital A.🇬🇧
Fantastic work, Derek!
