  1. Barbarians is the show, 1st series was okay but the battle scenes were pretty terrible. The stuff I've seen of the second series made me want to gouge my eyes out.

  2. Not much of a Roman War gamer, mostly into WW2,WW1 German Eastern Front and Napoleonic French and any Past Wars that deals with Poles and Finns. Me [personally, I don,t like slugging things out causing my guys to get high casualties. I like to set up my units what I call Defensive Offensive types of tactics, I let the enemy come to me! Damage them severely as they approach than when their losses have become high and moral falling I go on the """ATTACK"" ( I basically learned that on the Eastern Front) The Romans were known for their Military Technological Advancement, I think the best strategy was to stop at the edge of the forest and bring up the Roman Artillery ,those Ballista and Scorpios, the mid size one easy to transport, I would of also lit those suckers up, I mean the ammo, I think they also had these mini scorpions type bolt arrow launchers, sort of like German Russian style Rocket launchers in WW2 but with bolts, a lever would let about a dozen or more fly , all at once. They had the range they would of caused alot of damage on those Germanic units, of course either they would of retreated, the smarter move or the AI got stupid and charged, than just mow them down with the Legions Pilums standing on the edge of the forest between the artillery pieces. I did something close to that on a different game but with only 2 Legions facing about 30,000-40,000 Brits, open land in front of me and very thick forest on both my flanks, the Brits had to attack on the open field in front of me, I had decimated around %20 with my long range artillery before they decided to charge than another %20 -%25 more when they got into my Pilum range, by the time it came hand to hand combat they had lost almost half their force. Had place some large reserve of cohorts in my rear ,safe from hand to hand combat, plunging waves of pilum after pilum on the Brits rear.At the end I let about 3-4,000 Brits run away, the rest are dead, I lose only 1,800 Legionaires🙂
