  1. Ben I need you to know that you were born to podcast man. Your voice, your energy, it’s golden listening. I saw someone else comment this somewhere, and i’ll gladly reiterate. Don’t listen to those DMs dude, they’re full of shit

  2. Ben do you watch the channel Fascinating Horror? I feel like we have the same reference bank of manmade disasters, and I get all my knowledge from that channel (well, that and the Mayday/Air Disasters show, which I'm sure you watch too).

  3. I worked for PSSI and so did my husband and trust me that place is crooked as fuck and those chemicals are no fucking joke obviously and the reason they cant get people to fill these spots is because they suck at training.

  4. Imo the thing about the child labor laws is that its only as messed up as where we already are. We have a hyper career centric culture and the overarching purpose of the education system is to condition children into the workforce. Higher education is just determinism disguised as the opportunity for upward mobility. It seems odd to say children in the workforce is a bad idea when the suggestion is that they are better off at the place that is just conditioning them into the workforce anyways. Not that im arguing for more leniant child labor laws, just saying that would make relative sense to what we consider normal anyways. Know i will probs get hate for this take but whatevs

  5. you guys have to bring back the news back, it gave th show some spice, i mean after a while it kinda is too much "politics", and the news section didnt let the vibe die, it just kept it goig

  6. the child labor stuff was actually tuff to listen to and then the picture of the kid in the packing plant, just heart breaking. the protective gear didn’t even fit him, HES TOO YOUNG! these kids should be going to school, playing sports, playing an instrument in band, kissing girls, kissing boy, learning who they are and what they will become, making mistakes, doing good things, doing bad things and all the transformative experiences a teen goes through

  7. My first job broke child labor laws. We had no breaks and I was working 9 hour days (this was over the summer or on weekends so I didn’t miss class). During early covid though they would have kids working 9 or 10 hours shifts during the school day with no breaks.

  8. 36:00 cause they don't care. Just like how they wanna ban abortion but not improve the welfare program. It's about the exploitation of enforcing an idealogy on someone, it's meant to work for you not them.
