Welcome back to another video in the now-ongoing series on “monster” biology. Today, we’ll be exploring the complex and deteriorating biology of arguably one of the most omnipresent monsters in all modern media: the zombie.

But while you may think you know zombies, let me tell you, there’s much more to unearth. Enjoy!

This video was edited by @CyanRameron , who does excellent work!

  1. It does make sense zombies would hoard I mean think about it you're lost scared confused in pain and hungry and there's a group of people around you and you're all heading to the delicious smells it just makes sense that you would walk with these people for some sense of comfort as if subconsciously seeking help from your suffering that you can no longer ask for

  2. Zombism and Vampirism, is 2 sides of the same coin one is where the victims dna is hijacked however still sentient, and the other is a virus Hivemind, only to operate on the viruses needs ie PROLIFERATION

  3. These videos are so much fun and so well-made. I would love one on werewolves! Feels like a great addition to the vampire and zombie lineup, so you probably were already planning on it, lol 🙂

  4. Wait, in your HVP video, you said that vampires use circulation through skeletal muscle. You said they had lots of fast twitch muscles and that they are nearly inexhaustible. But in this video you said zombies also use the same kind of circulation and said it is inefficient

  5. Zombie forming groups can be explained by simply the act of going towards food sources. Each zombie in an area will go to a potential prey, and when it is successfully hunted down, the zombies stay around or just wander off in search of another prey. With enough iterations, this behaviour can lead to a really large group of zombies occupying and wandering the same area, giving the illusion of a organized social-like behaviour.

  6. i´m obsessed with this videos that give insight on how myths could be presented in a realistic or scientific way. loved your explanation on vampires and i´m sure zombies won´t be any different. makes me wonder if in the near future you´ll cover another great monster 🐺🎑

  7. I dare you to try and explain werewolf biology, so far you've only done the ones that still hold some human resemblance, but what about the trickier ones like the day and night cycle transformation of werewolves?

  8. Zombie apocalypse can not exist. We can thank our red eyed flies for this. No only will they seek out rotting flesh they will show us a huge sign that zombies are near with the intense gathering, mating, maggot bursting house fly saviours🐲💥❤
