Zeppelin Fan REACTS to Greta Van Fleet Farewell For Now

In this video we will be listening to the LATEST Single from Greta Van Fleet’s upcoming album, Starcatcher. ‘Farewell for Now’.

This one will be growing on me. Not immediately in love with it. But I do kinda dig it. Not a whole lot to say…

  1. Sad to say I don't like it. Yeah like you waiting for Jake to come and save it. Love MTM and to a lesser extent STT, this one no just don't like it. Plus it will now stir up the younger over emotional fans into a frenzy of " oh they are splitting up " here we go again

  2. It's a pretty song but I can hear female backing vocals? That is just not acceptable. Josh's vocal's are what makes them who they are. I am sad to say I really haven't warmed to it yet. You still owe me a review or two shotgun. I want you so much to do reviews of the songs I have mentioned. AGE OF MACHINE!! and the WEIGHT OF DREAMS. I am sure you will really like them.

  3. I like it, it’s a nice thank you to the fans, but I was secretly hoping we would get The Falling Sky or Indigo Streak next, because they’re rockers. Can’t wait for those and the rest of the album!

  4. While I agree it’s not their strongest song, it’s a song written for us fans as a thank you for all of our support. The lyrics are beautiful

  5. “In Farewell For Now we express the sentiment of our longing to stay on stage & savor the magic created by the audience-music phenomena. But we must pack up, & go to the next place to do it all over again; as always, we’ll be back soon.” – Sam Kiszka

I think it’s a very specific song, maybe to end their Starcatcher concerts. I can see this being played at the end of graduations and similar events. It’s sweet but it’s not a banger. I too like “Sacred the Thread” the best so far. I was really hoping they’d drop “The Falling Sky”…but the album will be out before we know it!

  6. When I first heard the live version of the song (from Sacramento), I didn't like it at all. It sounded too folksy-poppy. Something like Auld Lang Syne. And I was REALLY hoping that Falling Sky would be the next single.
That said, I really like the studio version. It's growing on me. And is makes sense. Thematically, it works very well together with Sacred the Thread. And it almost feels like a testimony. …you know, this film geek, who "never really wanted to be a singer," finally saw what's in the stars and caught the wind…
I don't want to sound overly sentimental, but I just really love the message.

  7. In my opinion, it's nothing absolutely ground breaking but the meaning behind it makes up for that. This song is a love letter and a promise to the fans. Also, in the lyrics there's references to TBAGG like "fought in battles far from the homeland" and "even drank from the wine" which is a reference to Stardust Chords. fun fact: I did indeed cry the first time i listened to this song

  8. Just listened to it before coming here. Yeah, I used to really like the harder stuff, and I still do prefer it but the slower and softer songs have grown on me throughout the years. This is one of those songs that just make me want to close my eyes and drift off.. but in a good way. Very easy going song and a beautiful tribute to all us fans that keep supporting them, even when they are constantly getting criticized.

There’s been a lot of mixed feelings on the effects on this one, but I really love the slight echo it’s very calming for some reason.
