The XYZ fusion monsters are some of the most interesting in Yu-Gi-Oh!’s history, but are they any good?

Breaker Format is the TCG format taking place in November 2003 using that month’s limited list. The format is dominated by Scientist FTK, a terrifying strategy that can kill opponents out of nowhere. But there may be some other strategies out there that can combat this format-warping super threat, we’ll just have to try and find them!

These cards are so cool. Just flat out, unadulterated, cool, "little kid" cards and I'm so here for them. Building this deck was back breaking as every Letter and Fusion was a Super rare or rarer 😅
can u use fusion substitute monsters like mystical sheep to summon the xyz fusions? because that would make reaching the fusion u want much easier
I will say a funny way to play XYZ is to have one of each of them in a Reasoning Machine OTK deck. Interestingly enough with that, I think that deck actually got better thanks to Scientist. You are already playing Cannon Soldier so it makes Last Will pretty decent, and the opponent having to worry about both game plans makes it fairly scary in that regard.
You can reasonably get 2 pieces out using a combo of a recruiter dying and then normal one on your turn, but getting the third piece onto the board requires either a last will or reborn play and isn't worth the investment. That said, XZ Tank Cannon is a very strong card, as is YZ Tank Dragon. I'd run a deck with 2 each of XZ and YZ in the extra, one XY, and zero XYZ. It's also worth considering that you can notably contact fuse with pieces sitting in the spell and trap zone, such as if you use Roll Out.
