I know this is low hanging fruit but isn't there some irony that the means by which Josh is speaking to viewers about not allowing distractions to consume you and deter you from your higher purpose is a YouTube video.
Another 24 ish years Josh you will be the same age as your mama. You did a great tribute to her. I’m the same way everyday we wake up got to seize the day. I probably got less than 30 years left.
It’s true Josh. We tend to get so wrapped up in so many trivial matters that waste our valuable time on earth. I’m 67 now, and realize how finite life is. My father when he was around my age used to say “how many good years do I have left?” He did manage to make it to 91 in relatively good health. I can’t assume I will be so fortunate.
I retired in 2023, taking SS at 63 yo. My friend, a neighbor and a colleague in ATC during our active duty days diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He walked, lost weight and is healed. I walked with him several times and told him to retire and spend that time with his wife. He said when i pay off a few debts, soon. His wife wants him to retire as well. She is now in ICU, meningitis, on ventilator. Will take a miracle for her to survive. She’s 61. Please guys, if you can, retire and take care of your health!
As you know my wife passed 19 months ago at 56 after about 12 years of dementia…yes dementia in her 40s and a lifetime of illness. She was very accomplished…so am I. And I so hear you Josh. I love your high school athlet thing…living in the past. Many veterans do the same thing. Many others do the same thing. Be grateful for your blessings, be grateful for good memories, be grateful for your life. I Say thanks to God daily, pray for others daily, ask for forgiveness of my sins daily, and ask for guidance daily. I believe God speaks to me through other people. When many others give me the same advice independently…not one or two…but many…that is God answering my prayer for guidance. The trick is to listen…and then do.
Hmmm… One of my time-killer weaknesses is watching Financial and Retirement content on YouTube. Have watched so much content that I’m now posting channel owner corrections in the comments (on other channels). While I admit to occasionally learning something new – at this point, the “new” is getting rarer. Time to attend YT Anonymous? 😉

Struggling inside over the financial decision we need to make –which means being probably at least five hours away from our daughter and granddaughter. I have also said for probably 20 years now…. more time behind us than in front of us. We're hanging on to the hope and a prayer we have the heart to do it. 🙏
Retire as soon as you can. Yea we all need money but is working another year or two going to make that big of a difference? Maybe if you’re carrying unpaid debt. I retired early. I think it was a good move. I have a steady income stream (via a pension) and will qualify for SS next year. Looking forward to that! Best wishes to all those who are retired or close to it.

I'm feeling it.

Very few people leave a legacy. If everyone is important, nobody is famous.
No long division needed with that video. Thanks Josh. Just got my 1st SS check. 1st Meal-Fish Fry-large Ring-Coffee Shake. Life is good!

work until 67 and die at 70? 75? Or retire at 62 or 63 and enjoy retirement while you have the most functionality.
