After hosting the penultimate race of the 2021 F1 campaign, Saudi Arabia is playing the host to the second Grand Prix of the new campaign, succeeding an enthralling start in Bahrain. However, F1 drivers are so bothered about the Saudi Arabia Tracks.
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit of Saudi Arabia hosted its first race last season but saw several interruptions including two red flags and multiple crashes. The Circuit features only one layout, which is 3.836 mi (6.174 km) long. It’s the longest circuit on the 2022 F1 calendar after Spa-Francorchamps.
The average speed around the Corniche Circuit is about 250 kmph (160 mph), and the track has a total of three DRS zones.
During the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix which featured 50 laps of racing actions, there was an interruption twice in the first 16 laps in the Sunday race before Red Bull’s championship frontrunner Max Verstappen took the lead with title rival Lewis Hamilton close behind.
