  1. I still play WoW 60 classic on Mankrik and still enjoy the game. Classic 60 is wonderful. Tried to make a new alt on Cata classic other night and after a bit I was bored. TBC classic I loved as well. I loved Kara, PVP etc. 60 Classic is still something I love. Cata just ain't my thing. It wasn't in 2010 either and not because of the new world changes but the Flying in Azeroth ruined exploration and the changes overall just eh.

  2. I'd happily play a Vanilla Wow with some better endgame balance, fixes and new dungeons.
Bliz never cared to offer that. So I play on a private serv that offers that, hopefully Bliz won't kill it.

  3. The Season of Discovery started out so well, but then they gave everyone a 100% experience boost, which completely destroyed the main point of classic WoW: the world. The horrible balance and super sweaty new raids didn't help either. In a sense, they quickly turned it into another version of retail WoW that no one likes… Unreal. I knew it was too much to ask from the current dev team to "improve" on the classic, and I was right.

  4. As a casual player I have absolutely no complaints about the difficulty of things. Like everyone is saying, it’s a game you HAVE to get good at some point. What actually is driving me away is the endless grind. If I got good enough to beat heroics etc I should be rewarded for doing so in a reasonable amount of time so that I can be ready for raids. Not be forced to do the same dungeons over and over and over again for WEEKS just to get one or two pieces of pre raid gear. Difficulty isn’t the problem, blizzard forcing me to only play WoW if I want to see end game content is.

  5. The crazy thing about the first tier of cata raids, they were even harder on release. This is after they were nerfed 2 times. Once like a month after release and another with a later patch that normalized heroic damage. Ppl still struggle with some of the fights. I remember people just couldnt do certain heroic dungeons at first it was just too much for them. Blizz course corrected hard with dragonsoul and left everyone with that raid for like a year which seriously impacted sub numbers. Then they announced pandas which, while it is a beloved expansion by a lot of newer players it was one of the expansions that caused a lot of the older players to finally drop the game for a while. A ton of people who started in vanilla quit in either cata or mop and came back a bit in leigon. They never really understood the wow version 1.0 design philosophy after cata, it just became more and more slanted towards the top 10% of players and then mythic came out and it just got even worse. Its why a ton of people just want a classic reset at vanilla, or a classic plus server with more dialed back changes.

  6. The problem is players started asking for changes and blizzard gave it to them.

We need a proper no changes classic and someone with the balls at blizzard to keep it that way.

Wow players don't know what they want.

  7. Everytime I watch an asmon clip when he talks about gaming is always with massive L Takes. Viewpoint from an old man who was never good at any games and just despise competition cause can't handle it so he wants every game to be a safety bubble like planet fitness

  8. I want to play WoW because I really liked the RTS games and I want to see and explore most of the world, but where would I even start? Preferably from the start and go through the what feels like a dozen expansions that covers the world over the past 20 years. But I can't, not anymore. I can't justify spending money on a game and then also having to pay a monthly subscription for something I could at most spend a few hours a day in and not be able to do most of it.

If they could strip back the multiplayer aspects and make it possible by a single player and a few AI you could hire as support and make it a one time purchase I would totally be all over it so I could do it at my own pace. Which is basically what it is anyway from the videos I have seen of yours most of the servers are dead and the ones that are not have none/few new players anyway.

  9. i always said that Classic WoW should've followed in OSRS footsteps after it was fully re-released. take it in a different direction and driven by player polls…course blizzard is too greedy and stupid to do something like that

  10. I went from high competitive CS into wow. Why? Cause I got bored cause I was too good. If I go back. I will suck cause I completely left FPS game behind me 10+ years. Cause all I did was played wow why? It was fun and gives a different challenge to gaming. But if you going to complain just to complain cause you can’t get what you want you shouldn’t even touch mmorpg at all.

  11. I’ve been playing cata if you’re on one of the top 10 servers it’s full of players, benediction is popping still, it will be years before wow dies, retail will die first. I am full PvP though so don’t care about the PvE aspect

  12. I don’t understand how anyone can play classic/cata. The gameplay might be fun and appealing but the people are elitist snobs who think that everyone has played before and knows exactly what to do at 100% efficiency. You can’t do shit w/o a group and even then groups are gatekept, and you’ll be instantly kicked if you make a mistake. You don’t even get gear from raids unless you are the top% and even then it’s not a guarantee. Raiding is also just another full time job as well. This applies for retail as well, but feels way worse in classic.

  13. Vanilla, TBC, Wotlk experience was in 2004-2009. This classic progress servers 2019-2023 is horrible all what we hate on blizz was there. So horrible vanilla experience even worse tbc and wotlk I don't know because I totally unsubscribe. Bots,Boosts, GDKP ruins everything. What is more worse is that free servers have better scripted server, or better experience even better community. Classic is MIN/MAX rush content from day 1 and this responsibility drop on your head Asmon too because streamers adding salt to the wounds.

  14. LOL the raids aren't too hard. A better way to put it is there is less room for carrying bads. If you're the caliber of player you claim to be, you'd recognize this. What's happening is like the past classic expansions, where the bads aren't identified as soon as they used to because with the speed of internet, more powerful PCs, and most importantly WEAK AURAS, even bads get farther. What you're experiencing is discovering your skill cap is lower than you believed and you're dealing with feeling bad about yourself.

  15. Unpopular opinion SOD was great imo. They kind of killed the player base with Phase 3 by making the phase so much longer then it needed to be. But Phase 1 was the best time everyone had multiple alts raiding 3x a week it was fun.

  16. The "Git Gud" mentality is flawed. Most players already "got good" enough to get to the raid by reading guides, practing rotations and doing their best to do everything right THEN on top of that the raid mechanics are way too complex and punishing so you have to do even more homework on top of that if you are playing casually

  17. I remember when cata first released and it took 4 hours to get through Grim Batol with random groups because the concept of not hitting the sheep was too much for the others. Most players are practically braindead lmao

  18. I had nothing but great memories of BC and WOLTK era wow, and the thought of reliving those times all over was very appealing. The elitism on the server ruined that chance completely. If you weren't day one (for normal dungeons, mind you) with the top raid gear from the previous expansion, you couldn't even find a group for a normal dungeon, because everyone wanted to run through those in 3 minutes flat, so they could get more loot. I tried to stick with it and level to max, but by the time I did, it was the same thing for heroic dungeons, and I ended up letting go of the past and uninstalling WoW for good. Really makes me sad in an age in which I cannot stand new games for the most part, and would be fine playing wow exclusively again for years to level up, but it just isn't possible now.

  19. The content in cataclysm getting harder, non-casual friendly, and unpuggable was the exact reason why blizzard added LFR at the end. Cataclysm classic releasing and the casual players leaving is just history repeating itself
