  1. I had cataract surgery 6 years ago and see double every since. My eye doctor can not tell me why or seem concerned about it. I only wore glasses for reading before surgery and now can not see far away or read without glasses. I got the single vision lens for distance so I don't understand why I can't see far away now. So upset I ever had this surgery.

  2. I had 2 cataract surgerys 1 year apart. Each eye 1 year later had tears and holes in retina!!!
What is the percentage or odds of developing retina problems 1 year apart for each eye????
    Maybe defective lenses
    or doctor error????
I can accept retina problems on 1 eye but not both eyes!!!!
    Your thoughts please.

  5. I had cataract surgery in early December, at the same time I had the "drains" in my eyes made deeper to ease my slightly high ocular pressures (from 20 down to 15 each eye last exam.) When my cataracts started becoming more obvious last year I also had more floaters emerge (being myopic I have always had them) in addition to having PVD (Weiss ring in the left eye before surgery, in the right after.) At any rate, I also have dry eyes, which I treat with drops, my main concern is a visual problem in the right eye that I characterize as looking a bit like an oil slick, could this be a protein build up or a wrinkle in the lens? My next appointment is in July, is there any reason I should see my ophthalmologist before then? I was happy with the surgery initially but I am worried about increased floaters, plus slight ongoing PVD flashes (no loss of vision btw.)

  7. 'your doctor NEVER told you' or '…(s/he) PROBABLY didn't tell you…'? These two statements sound different, but they come up together from you at 1:01, one in writing, the other one orally. They are in discrepancy. And the first statement is a part of the name of your video. That is classical clickbait and doesn't sound nice from anyone who makes a video, but especially from a doctor who speaks about serious surgery. It's unprofessional.

  8. My 75 year old brother had cataract surgery, but after the prescribed time to recover, swelling persisted, his sight worsened, and experiences a consistent level burning sensation. He returned to the surgeon with these complaints. The doctor advised him to give it more time. It's been 8 months since the surgery and he continues to have deterioration in both eyes. Question is: Should he give this surgeon a 3rd chance, or, should he seek another ophthalmologist for evaluation? Thank you!

  9. I had the surgery done last week on my left eye and can really tell a difference. I was at the point I couldn't see out of it and was relying on my right eye. Now my right eye is the bad one. Thanks for your video. It helped.

  11. I just found out two weeks before Christmas that I have mild Cataract's in both eyes. I am 59 years old and scared to death to get this done if it gets too bad in the near future.
I have drastically changed my eating habits, cut out the sodas, potato chips, etc. I am eating more green vegetables, carrots, eggs, nuts, etc .
I am also wearing sunglasses in the sun. Is there anything else that I can do to slow the progression of this down? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. thank you..

  12. I just had a dense cataract removed. My vision before was completely black. During surgery, I had a flash of light and I could actually see the ceiling. Next day Doc removed the bandage and saw NOTHING, completely black. Any advise?

  13. Recently underwent consultation for cataract surgery and had NO IDEA how many annoying (and sometimes sight threatening) problems can develop, sometimes permanently, after this "routine" procedure.
This information sure flies in the face of the rosy picture the eye care community paints of it. Reminds me of all the LASIK hype back in the day. Sure glad I turned that down and time has only proved I made the right decision.
I'm a high myope and I'm scared to death this surgery, which I'm told has become necessary, will only create new problems that I'll have to deal with in the years to come. I can only hope the risks will be worth it.

  14. FROM MY EXPERIENCE HAVING MY LENS CHANGED IN MY RIGHT EYE. I DON'T RECOMMEND GETTING YOUR LENS CHANGED, BUT ONLY IF YOU CANNOT SEE AT ALL. THESE LENSES ARE STILL IN THE DEVELOPMENT STAGES. IF YOU COULD SEE WITH THE CATARACS YOU HAVE. DEAL WITH IT FOR NOW. THE PROBLEM WITH THESE LENSES IS THE FOCUSING. I HAD A SYMPHONY LENS PUT IN FIRST AND IT WAS A DISASTER. THERE WAS 30 THINGS WRONG WITH THE LENS. ANOTHER OPHTHALMOLOGIST THAT I WENT TO SEE. USED MY CASE IN A STUDY IN HIS LECTURES AT THEIR GROUP MEETINGS. I GAVE HIM PERMISSION TO DO SO WHEN HE ASKED ME. SO IT CAN HELP IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BETTER LENS. THE SECOND LENS THAT REPLACED THE SYMPHONY LENS IS A BAUSCH & LOMB. THE PROBLEM WITH THESE LENSES ARE THE FOCUS. WHERE EVERYTHING IS MAGNIFIED. WHICH THE END RESULT IS, THAT IT TAKES THE BEAUTY OUT OF LIFE. NOTHING LOOKS RIGHT. THE PORES ON PEOPLE'S SKIN THAT YOU NORMALLY WOULD NEVER SEE WITH YOUR ORIGINAL LENSES ARE LARGE AND UGLY. VELLUS HAIRS ON THE SKIN ARE MAGNIFIED AND LOOK COURSE AND DARK. I COULD SEE THE VELLUS HAIRS AROUND WOMAN'S LIPS ARE MUSTACHES. WHEN YOU LOOK AT A PAINTED WALLS YOU SEE THE ORANGE PEEL AND THE RIPPLES IN THE PAINT. THAT YOU WOULD NEVER SEE WITH THE NORMAL FOCUS GOD PUT IN OUR LENSES. YOU SEE THE DIRT ON SURFACES MAGNIFIED. YOU SEE LARGE GRAINS IN THE WOOD. THE TILES IN MY BATHROOM HAVE A YELLOW TINT TO IT, WITH A SIMULATED GRAIN. WITH THIS NEW LENS THE YELLOW TINT IS CANCELLED OUT. YOU DON'T SEE IT ANYMORE AND ALL YOU SEE ARE UGLY RUSTY SIMULATED GRAINS BEING THE FIRST PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THE TILE BEFORE THEY PUT THE YELLOW PATINA OVER THE TOP. I NEVER GOT MY LEFT EYE DONE AND STILL SEE THROUGH IT AND I WILL TRY SOMETHING MORE NATURAL AND HOLISTIC THE DISSOLVE THOSE PROTEIN SPOTS ON THE LENS.

  15. My cataract surgery has been a catastophy for three months. The surgeon has been trying very hard to restore vision. My vision is finally getting better. This has been scary, because I only have sight in that one eye.

  16. Thank you for the explanations that my eye surgeon failed to mention to me. In fact when I asked questions he told me to get another referral to another surgeon when I waited 4 years to get up the wait list to see him.
Now, I'd like to hear about when the new class of flexible IOL's will be available. Its also important to know if this new class lower risks as the experts deduce or could they be worse? Why is the study taking so long and are the trials ongoing.
