– Death Valley is big: At 3.4 million acres it’s the largest US National Park outside of Alaska. You can easily drive 2+ hours in-between attractions.
– Death Valley Has almost no cell reception: Make sure you download Google Maps and AllTrails for offline use
– Death Valley has very few places to buy food and water, make sure to bring it in excess before heading into the park
– Death Valley has two gas stations but because of the difficulty to transport gas there, it’s some of the most expensive you’ll see in the country
– Death Valley is hot: Temperatures in the summer can easily reach 120*F but in the winter months it can be below freezing
– Death Valley has flash floods, While you imagine Death Valley being extremely dry they do get rain and when that happens flash floods can quickly appear.
– Don’t go off marked roads and trails, if you get stuck and need to be rescued it’s going to be extremely expensive.
– Death Valley is home to Badwater Basin, the lowest point in all of North America (282 feet below sea level)
– Wear appropriate clothing like a sun shirt, hat, sunglasses, and lather on that sunscreen.
