They started chasing the player but they end up giving him away to a team with more serious owners. It is time for Liverpool supporters to wake up and show these owners exit door. Wrong supporters have already started placing blame on the innocent manager. You have eyes to tell who has been sustaining the team under the the awkward circumstances created by this type of club ownership. You are wasting time. They have forgotten that primary objective of any football club is to win titles. It is Klopp who has made the team to even compete with Manchester City who are owned by more responsible Middle East owners. Having owners from the Middle East is the only way to go for Liverpool now and not the Yankees. This is reminiscent of the Hicks and Gillet reign of misery. This is a clear warning that when Liverpool is put on sale, do not waste time considering bids from USA suitors. You should straight away consider those from the Middle East and bring to an end this kind of crap. I am pizzed up.
Why do people keep talking as if Klopp is an angelic being who can do no wrong? This is not only an FSG problem, it’s a Klopp problem too. They’re one and the same for me.
1. Klopp signed that contract extension a few years ago, so for me, that shows he’s fine with FSG. He could walk into any top job in the world (Bar City) but he chose to stay here. If he hated the owners, he wouldn’t have signed that contract.
2. We should have rejuvenated our midfield three years ago. Klopp decided to give new players such as Henderson and Keita new contracts instead of moving them on. The constant blind loyalty to ageing players and the “trust Klopp” mantra has got us into this mess. Klopp said last year that “What kind of player are we missing” regarding our midfield options last year!
3. Jorg Schmadtke is a friend of Klopp so I’m pretty sure he signed off on him coming in. Klopp has been given more power in regards to transfers and that has been proven. Why have Micheal Edwards and now Julian Ward both departed? They must have had issues with Klopp. There is also a big brain drain happening at Liverpool with other senior figures leaving.
This is not about this summer, this is about Klopp’s tenure here. He has failed to refresh the squad when we’ve been on top. We have let players run down their contracts and leave on a free without getting a transfer fee for them. This has been coming for years. If Klopp was more ruthless and sold players when they needed to be sold, we probably wouldn’t be in this position and we would probably have an extra CL and Two more PLs.
Klopp is not infallible and our failure as a fan base to call out all the misgivings when we were at the top was the problem. When someone did it was the normal “Why are you moaning we’re top of the league” or “This isn’t FIFA mate”.
This isn’t only an FSG problem, t’s Klopp, Us as fans and the media for failing to call this out years ago because things were “Good”.
