Beavers are the most industrious animals to ever grace this planet. Their cuteness can also overshadow the fact that they can destroy entire ecosystems. The Fat Electrician tells the tale of an operation to AIR DROP dozens of beavers out of one area and into another. Yes, out of AIRPLANES with PARACHUTES. Mr. Terry gets to talk about beavers, one of his favorite animals.

Beavers are a natural source for food flavoring
High five i am both born in iowa and raised in Minnesota
Yes 5 drops you get your wings
"Sometimes your name just destines you for certain things in life." We had someone in Texas named Michelle Slaughter running for Judge of Court of Criminal Appeals last election. Naturally, she won. XD
A pest to developers and HOA Karens.
The beavers are coming! The beavers are coming!
Beavers were also harvested for castoreum, which the beaver uses for waterproofing their fur, but is used by humans in high end perfumes, because it helps enhance the smell of other things. Nowadays they have a synthetic castoreum thatβs just as good.
Post10 enjoyer, this man canβt be stopped (unlike those beaver dams lol)
Mike isn't the goat Larry Bird is the GOAT
You should check out the movie Hundreds of Beavers.
React to real life Rambo
At several times in my job, I've had to take down beaver dams, and sometimes relocate or encourage the beavers to do so. There is nothing that will give you as much respect for an animal like the beaver as there is trying to take down one of their dams. And watch them build it back up better and bigger within 24 hours.
Humans and beavers both build dams. Minnesota has a paltry 10,000 lakes. Manitoba, which has 100,000 lakes, is know for our hydroelectricity. To turn on the lights, and, sometimes the heat, we need to pay our hydro bills.
Beavers were an essential part of our history since Canada was built on the fur trade. We even have one on our nickel.
Hey, new subscriber here.. was just wondering if you ever saw the SNL skit Washington's Dream last year with Nate Bargetze.. funniest skit I've seen in years on SNL.. I think it would be a fun one to do
Love your videos.
What part of minne-sote-nutz are you from? Sincerely, Scott in Minnetonka. By way of phily.
Can't stand YT's censorship, half my comments when debating end up disappearing. They act like they don't already have the ability to limit viewership on age-restricted videos, I'm an adult, I can take a few cuss words, if I wanted a family-friendly video I'd search Cocomelon.
THIS subject is perfect viewing for CANADA DAY EH!ππππ
Um. Yeah, as @maraanusuya said, beavers are actually seriously the best for the ecosystem, it's just not good for farmers. Also besides beaver pelts and therefore hats, there's something else you might not know: fake vanilla scent/flavoring was and sometimes is still made from the secretions of glands around a beaver's anus. Have fun with that.
The fat electrician normally puts a bit of funny content after the end screen, if you cover his video on Roy Benavidez he puts a clip of him from an interview that is really awesome
Also 14:09 can you blame them? That's like you not getting angry when someone comes and tears the door off your house. Best believe someone that does that at my house is likely to get shot.
The thing with beavers is they can have both amazingly transformative positive impacts on the environment and turn it into healthy thriving wetlands. Still, also they're so disruptive and damaging to dry/scrub land and basically anything that isn't wetland/downhill from wetlands displacing anything that doesn't adapt But you'd think plenty of animals would just change their den nearby depending on the animal because not only do you have a water source but you possibly have fruits, berries etc growing nearby (If the beavers don't chew them down π Og god damnit this is going to turn into an overnight research rabbit hole ….beaver hole….
Did you know muskrats often will essentially move in or sublet from the beavers, we;re still not 100% why whether the muskrats are just good tenants who bring in additional food, keep things clean or something else unknown to us yet? Or if it is just commensalism where the beavers are either not bothered either way by the muskrats OR if they're even that aware of their presence, but the muskrats will often raise their young in the dam so them going unnoticed doesn't sit right with me, I look forward to the future papers and research results,
Be safe all, and remember -science and nature (And of course History) πrules !!! π
Someone here NEEDS to play TimberBorn.
EPIC LINE "Just rednecks" at ~10:24 made me spew my coffee EH!ππππ
This will be a difficult video to play for your students.
Hello, I wanted to say that I love you're reactions. It's nice to get some additional context on some of these videos. You should check out TFE's video on the 11th Airborne Division's Raid on Los Banos.
Somebody needs to design a beaver with a parachute a helmet and a rifle and then send it over to Mr Terry so he can turn that into a shirt
