I’m not affiliated with Rogue Trader or Owlcat in any way (though they *were* kind enough to send me an early key). I’m just an oldschool tabletop gamer who loves story-driven CRPGs and turn-based tactical games. 🙂

  1. Yeah Rogue Trader doesn't have money because the Rogue Traders are immensely wealthy. The cost of some of those items is way too high but I do get it for gameplay purposes.
In 40k time is referenced as 0 123 456 M41 = Check Number/Year Fraction/Year/Millennium Where the year fraction is one thousandth of a year which is around 8 hours and 45 minutes. I believe a cycle is one of those one thousandth fractions and the thing Opticon-22 said was 34 thousand and some fractions.

Character models being changed by the gear you wear is owlcat tradition at this point and I for one love it.

The game looks really promising but then 40k is a universe which I enjoy unlike pathfinder but I really liked kingmaker/wrath even then.

  2. Interesting barter system, not one I've seen before. I forgot to compliment your voice over for the mechanical characters on the previous video, it's good and one of the reasons I enjoy your content.

  3. Hi great play through looking forward to more.

The extractors are part of the colony expansion part of the game. Explore, settle and/or extract from certain locations. End result is to use the resources to improve these places.

So best to keep a supply on hand if you are going to be checking out different aspects of the game.

  4. Overall I like the aesthetic. Though I must admit the inventory annoys me, mostly that things don't stack, especially something like those leaflets (as least if it's copies/same).

  5. I am sure I heard "Lann's" voice in the background chatter at one stage! Warhammer 40K is a bit of a jump from Pathfinder/traditional D&D… but it looks promising!

Footfall is a bit to "vertical", you had to fight the camera a few times there! Looks awesome otherwise… Owlcat is really becoming a dev to follow.

  6. I wonder if there are any more companions we haven't seen yet. Obviously, the Space Wolf will be late game stuff that we won't see in this Alpha. I'm hoping we get a chance to recruit some weird stuff, like an ork freeboota or a kroot mercenary. Maybe even some obscure xenos you don't get to see on the tabletop or some "heresy route" exclusive chaos companions.

  7. I'm going to go on a limb here and say those refugees are actual Chaos cultists, or at the very least, in the process of becoming one. Considering that they just admitted to being exposed to Chaos and that their crew were infected with "blight". When it comes to Chaos corruption, better to nip it at the bud before it spreads

  8. I've wanted someone to make a Dark Heresy game for ages, though I was imagining a 3rd person action game with hive cities like Yharnam from Bloodborn. I also wanted a Necromunda game in the style of Firaxis' X-Com reboot. Seems like I'm almost getting what I want, but I'll wait for reviews and this lets play to see if it's something I want to invest in.

  9. Oh, man, shown up. I ran into that pass-code-locked door and said "oh, clearly this is a UI bug," reported it, and moved on. You actually found the solution. I feel dumb now. 🙂

    Well done.
