We CAN'T STAY here anymore! Sailing YABA to the rescue! // LAHAKAI Ep11

Our time is running out and we must leave! Luke falls ill, the Lahakai enters the water and Ben from @SailingYaba arrives help us sail down the coast of Brazil to continue our boat building project. We are giving it our all with the hopes we can save this salvage sailboat. But will we be prepared enough to sail this empty boat?

Not familiar with @SailingYaba ?! Ben and MP are completely rebuilding a wooden schooner in the most epic way! Check out their project, it’s truly inspiring.

We are Luke, Lori and Leon πŸ™‚ We love the idea of freedom of the open sea, endless horizons, and our home whenever you wish to be. So we are building the Lahakai – a 34β€² steel, fully electric, sailboat that we will sail around the world! Or at least that is the goal and you can see our progress along the way. We hope you join us on our journey into the water and around the world!

  1. Quickly becoming my favorite channel. In my experience there are a hundred people that will try to talk you out of your dream, call it silly, unrealistic blah blah blah but in between you have these amazing people that will always back you up in your silly unrealistic dreams and help you make them into reality.
Never give up on your dreams! whats the point in life without them?

Too bad im so far away, id love to lend a hand in your project!

All the best, Ben in Norway

  2. Thank you for watching our video! The count down is still on till we leave on our journey, but this is a big moment for us.

Did you like how she looked in that gun metal grey? Should we keep her this color in the end or what color do you think would be the best? Also, what do you think about the design of the boat now that you can see her with her mast and in the water?

  5. Yes It's all good and well send out lots of love to your "Patrons" but please don't forget us that can't support your lifestyle or rather dreams but like to participate by watching as many videos as possible, I'm a pensioner and can't send money but have been a fan of Duka and Roberta since building their little container house and then the boat project and that led to Ben and MP when Duka first introduced us when Ben was having pump issues trying to keep the water out of Yaba before motoring her to where they are now. This goes for Ben and MP as well, Don't forget about your subscribers. Just imagine the money I'd be in for if I was a patron to all I watch like Beau & Brandy, Odd Life Crafting, Sailing Alma, Sailing Atticus II, Sailing GBU, Sailing Hakuna, Sailing Lady Africa, Sailing Lavagabonde, Sailing Miss Lone Star, Sailing Uma, Sailing Vessel Delos, Sailing YabΓ‘, Salt & Tar and last but not least is SV Seeker. Yes, I like to watch and download a lot of sailing videos. It was my dream to sail once but now I'm too old so I get a kick out of watching you guys and all you are getting out of the sailing life. It's sad that Duka couldn't use tangerine dream for the name of Odd. Lots of love, Pete.

  6. Wow it’s coming along and that’s awesome:) I also watch sailing yaba and odd life crafting. The boat is looking good and even though there is still a lot to go I know it’s going to be beautiful in the end. I’m very sure you will be in great hands when you get there. And with friends there and all of us cheering you on it’s going to be okay:)πŸ‘

  7. Thought it when you renamed a boat and first put her in the water you're supposed to christen her with champagne?? I don't think you'll like the battleship gray color when you are living aboard in hot and humid climates.. I personally love a dark blue boat with a gold stripe or silver and a buckskin or white deck..

  8. Congratulations! I'm very happy about you guys it is a great accomplishment πŸ™‚
At the same time I'm asking myself if you can in this time and money build a brand new boat? Any thoughts about this?

  9. anti-climatic. Your boat isn't sinking or has the possibility of cracking up out at sea. The Yaba` trip was pretty insane πŸ˜† That is a nice looking boat you have there, I may just have to binge watch episodes 1-10 now.
