  1. Next time simply take a can of polyurethane foam and spray in the grooves on the floor. Then you can simply cut it to level the height or use it to glue the floorboard to the floor…

  3. Very helpful video. Gave me a lot of ideas.

Was 3/8” insulation too thin? Hot knife seemed like way too much. I would think spray foam and then shaving it down would be less labor intensive and faster.

Lastly-why not get bigger angle iron and cut it down to the right height rather than a second piece under the first?

  4. doesn't going through the floor introduce MASSIVE cold bridges and undo the complete isolation? … (yeah it does i'm pretty sure)
thanks for the great tips though, materials and methods

  5. Do you have a gasket on the inside of the sliding door that butts up to your floor and lower step? I have a sprinter work van that likes to accumulate screws and rock in the door slide track. Turns out that there is an update with a stiff open cell foam that sticks to the inside of the door skin so when the door is shut the foam gasket butts up to the step tread plate and keep rocks and screws from rolling around the tread plate and falling into the sliding track.

  6. i love the way you did the floor in that van, i'm going to do it same way , one question , what L-Track is that ? who makes that ? i like the way it drops in the channels and there's still some over hang on the sides , thank you in advance.

  7. Zipwall would not be my choice. It doesn't hold screws well at all, like any other particle board. And if you let it soak it will start falling apart. Regular plywood would have a better resistance to soaking and can actually hold screws. So to anyone watching, unless you got the zipwall free, then look at some 1/2" cabinet or marine grade ply first!

  8. I'm looking at bolting L track to my Sprinter floor and, looking at the underside, the outside edges of the van are open and clear but the next bays inward have the muffler with heat shield on one side and the gas tank on the other. It doesn't look like you dropped these for bolt access so just wondering how this was dealt with.
