Man magic still has some of the coolest art I've ever seen but they just don't make it like the hand-painted masterpieces that we used to get.
I remember when 8th edition came out. I hated it because they changed the border on the cards in the set

This is the set that I started on, we went to Walmart and grabbed 3 boosters each and drafted in a hotel room. summer of 04 if I remember right.
I did a massive ABU llanowar elves buyout Yesterday, mostly on Cardmarket. You can See it in the statistiks. Bought about 150 copies Unlimited Elves, 40 Beta, 10 Alpha, 9 seventh Foil, alot of the available CE AND ICE Versions. And also Gateway Promos, DCI and FBB 🙂 and i will continue untill they are all gone :).

The art was a bit goofy, but got a soft spot for it.
I still have an Ice Age starter box that I opened new when it came out. My first packs were Antiquities and Revised… the first night I bought packs my best friend was buying the last Arabian Nights left in the Seattle area, after calling tons of stores (technically they were in Bothell). I wanna say I missed Unlimited packs by a couple weeks…?

I too started MTG out with an Ice Age and 4th edition starter deck. Took a break after 1999 and then got back into MTG 4 years ago after moving into my house and unpacking my MTG cards I save and enjoy up to this day.
So is there not going too be a core set 2022?

Was a pretty weak box until the last couple packs! Still awesome to see opened nonetheless. 8th Edition has some breathtaking art, especially in the basic land slot.
