The EF4 tornado which tracked through Cullman, AL on April 27, 2011 is most remembered for having an exceptionally strange multivortex structure and devastating the city of 15,000. However, the storm went on far longer after that, morphing into a half-mile-wide monster and leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
From Wikipedia: Rated EF4, this highly visible multiple-vortex tornado tracked directly through downtown Cullman. The tornado touched down at 2:40 p.m. CDT (19:40 UTC) on April 27 and tracked a 47-mile (76 km) damage path through Cullman, Morgan, and Marshall Counties, causing six deaths.

Wow, just Wow!! This is one of the best put together, most professional videos I've seen yet, of the 4/27/11 storms. Boy would I love to see a video like this on the other 15 wedges from that day. Just exceptional work Sir. I feel lucky to have had your video recommened to me. Thanks so much for all your hard work!!
One of the best tornado documentaries I’ve ever seen. Great job. Once it left Cullman it turned into a monster wedge tornado. I often wonder at its strongest if it had F5 winds in it. I hope you do one on Hackleburg next that was a May 3 1999 type tornado. Love your work man keep it coming. The family who died together sheltering and seeing The Dead Man Walking scares the shit out of me giving me vibes of Jarrell
There's still visible damage from this outbreak to this day
Interesting fact. The morning of April 27th had an outbreak as well… all the meteorologists were caught off guard by it..all forcast models missed that morning event …
This is one of the best videos about the span line of a tornado. Can't wait to see more. It's horrifying to see the tornado strengthen just after going through Cullman.
I saw that you even made a video about Yogtze which is one of the most creepy criminal cases here in Germany.
You have one follower more from now on.
I live less than an hour away from cullman and my family and I watched four tornadoes form right above our house and touch down about 15 miles past us scary day no doubt
I'm from Cullman Al and I will never forget this day. My house was picked up and set back down 3 feet off the form boards. My air conditioner flew by my head at like 70mph as i was trying to run for the closet. When it stopped, I looked up to see a tree limb the size of a basketball in circumference two feet above me. The tornado that obliterated Cullman touched down about 30 yards past my house. IT DESTROYED EVERYTHING
I live in bugtussle now, which is called tornado alley. Nearly every single tornado that comes through Alabama comes over my house. We now have a shelter that's three foot thick on all sides.
xenia ohio was hit by a f-5 tornado april 3 1974 destroyed the entire city
Sounds like loud howl
I have been trying to find the documentary they did about the 1997 tornado. The dead man walking was a video I watched back in elementary school and I’ve been looking for the documentary they did for a long time but couldn’t remember enough info to find it!! Now I do! Thank you so much! This has been over a decade of looking 😂
Channel underground fr
You have returned!
11:00 You always hear about the sound of an incoming freight train for a tornado, but rarely hear it in a video.
12.6?! I thought it went to 10!
You definitely don’t want to hear a meteorologist say that…..that’s when it’s time to get in your storm shelter.
l was there, l seen it go down interstate 65 then turned headed down town, so scared
To the owner of this channel, may i ask what editing software you use?
I live near Cullman. I was building my first house the day this hit. Never missed a lick. We lost power for a week. Luckily a friend of ours went to Mississippi and came back with a load of 8650 generators. 1000$ each
Oh and James Spann is the man. I watched him on the air during one event a few years ago. His wife was in a tornado. Luckily she was ok.
There were 18 that hit central and Eastern Texas the evening before. I know because I was there. They hit just north north east of San Antonio, Texas.
Is Hackleburg-Phil Campbell up next? And if so, when are we expecting it to be released?
The cullman tornado was terrible. It destroyed nearly everything, I was in a building a block over and cars were thrown and lifted
My gosh… Maybe it's suggestion but thats just uncanny how this tornado/tornadoes moved. As a Native American from Canada, I'm damn glad we dont have that to worry so much about 😱
You should also do the tornado that ripped through Harvest, AL from this same day.
Thank you for covering a topic which hurt me still to this day. I remember being 10 watching the tornados at the window knowing there was not anything I could do. Someone covering this makes my heart brake knowing so many of us went through this
Can anyone tell me what weather occurrence causes a walking dead man compared to a regular tornado? How bad does a storm have to be to produce one?
