  1. I had a decent amount of Barbies growing up and I played with them (but I also enjoyed MLP). The thing is I never once felt bad about how I looked because of Barbie dolls. It was society. Seeing women featured in advertisements, TV commercials, movies and shows, teenage magazines, music videos etc. It was seeing real women that affected me way more. Barbie is a doll, made a plastic, manufactured to look like that and I was able to not project my insecurities or blame Barbie for that. Barbie is a reflection, of how society sees women, not a cause.
