Timeline: Cape Ann – Howard Black Burn | From Gloucester to Gold

The city of Gloucester, Ma is America’s oldest seaport and was the fishing capital of the world for most of its 400 year history. More than 10,000 people have left this port and lost their lives at sea. When disaster strikes, few live to tell the tale. Watch the second installment of “Timeline: Cape Ann – Howard Blackburn” 1623 Studios’s Kory Curcuru tells the story of one survival at sea that surpasses all others. Howard Blackburn’s ambition and daring has made him a legend and one of the most celebrated seafarers in history.

Special credit to Cape Ann Museum, Sawyer Free Library & the late author, Joe Garland, whose seminal “Lone Voyager” is the basis for the entire piece.
