As someone who was bullied relentlessly back in high school because I’m middle eastern and everyone assumed I was a Muslim (I’m not), I’m sort of “glad” to see how the tables have turned and now people like this try and pretend to be Muslim to be popular.

I think what happened here is he lied about his age to fit in and his race and religion to seem more unique, niche, special etc. And he had lied about it for so long it practically became apart of his identity and could explain why he was so involved in this alter ego of his online. Not only did he not want to get found out to be a liar for such a thing like that but this online persona ultimately became apart of his identity.
