Where I'm from the department of transportation deals with traffic infractions. That way you don't end up in jail for traffic violations unless you have a warrant.

There is none DOT Law or Federal law or code that stipulated that any 50 state in the United State of America that a temporary tag need to be legible more than 50ft!
If an officer cannot clearly make out your license plate information from a distance of 50 feet, you can be pulled over. Most of the time, you'll receive a warning and be told to have it taken care of right away.
If a police officer cannot read your paper tag not even at 10ft of distance from a vehicle, then the police officer really need to use eyeglasses.

First and foremost, the stop was legal!!! Many states have laws, which requires information on tags (temporary and permanent) be visible (or readable) from various distances!! In addition, by signing and accepting a driver's license an individual agrees to providing certain data (license, registration, and proof of 🧾 insurance) when stopped while in actual physical control of your motor vehicle 🚗!!
Personally, I keep photo copies of the aforementioned under my sun visor and immediately offer it when stopped (or at a DL checkpoint)!! Now, at that point,. I have given the law enforcement officer (s) everything I am legally required to provide and begin invoking my 1st, 4th, and 5th Amendment Rights as provided by The United States Constitution!!!!
Last, stay out of "Gray Areas!!" Like it or not, you do not 🚫 have the same protections while operating a motor vehicle (pertaining to being stopped 🛑) as you have walking down the street or in your home!!!Therefore, stop 🛑 "Riding Dirty!!" As to RAS and probable cause, it requires very little of either for a lew enforcement officer to stop 🛑 a motor vehicle 🚗 ( anything from a moving violation to a safety equipment violation) together with everything in between!!!!
