The final great attack of World War 1 was called “The Hundred Days Offensive”. The Entente thought they would have to go on the defensive for 1918 and resume offensive strategies for 1919. But after Germany had exhausted much of their resources during the failed German Spring Offenive and America was now fully prepared for war the Entenete realised that they could actually win the whole thing before christmas. A sentiment held at the start of the war but then abandoned as it continued with no signs
of repreave, now it was possible it would all be over by christmas.
