loved the historical aspects of this documentary and the cultural context.. made me think we take soo much for granted with our technological society today. well done.
Loved EVERYTHING about this 😍
Is this a re-upload?
i miss peter so much😭 i hope he's having a great day
So pleasantly surprised there aren't a bunch of vegans tripping out in the comments
Thank you for sharing. I get bothered when People post about the 12 days of Christmas being before Christmas
This was so interesting, don't know how I missed it when it came out originally!
there is NO WAY I mean ZERO chance I'd even sit at that table let alone taste anything. no nonono
Wonderful!
I’m genuinely asking: who finishes their 21st century meal with cheese? Is that a thing in England? Desert cheese? I’ve never heard of that.
This is interesting and also great to fall asleep to
Wasn't at all surprised that Ruth would be the one to start the food fight. lol. What a fun person!
Ruth’s laughter is the definition of a hysterical laugh.
What's with all the green trees and grass? I thought it was winter there?
11:42 “…which as a tenant of the landlord you were allowed to gather”
This shows how long slavery, which isn’t called slavery, should have existed! And shows us that all humanity needed COMMUNISM throughout history!
Tenants are slaves to landlords, still today, but landlords are also slaves TO their tenants! They each are oppressors. And tenants killed landlords over injustice, and landlords killed tenants! And oftentimes no one could solve any crimes, justly or unjustly. Just like today!
This what starts to go down
This is amazing !!! I love seeing historical traditions I've read about come to life ! Well done.
The best part of traditions is that they can change or even be brought around again for a refresh with historical backing. Always enjoyed the Tudor Monastery Farm series, and I highly recommend the books by these archeologists and historians. Very good reading.
I imagine it's not that the birds of prey don't have the "aptitude" for learning so much as their general dislike of humans trying to wrangle them, but okay sir lol
Interesting that all the work the women did has largely been preserved while all the things the men did has effectively all dwindled and been replaced with plastic.
This was so lovely! 🎄
Haha, all the parties Prof. Ronald Hutton has been to across the historic farm series, always invited for the fun bits!
imagine the immersive reenactments of today 300 hundred years from now. "They sat on couches and scrolled through facebook. They loaded the dish washer and ordered take-out".
Yule, the Sun god, is December 21st, not 25th. The equinox.
